Dominique went to the amusement park for the first time in a long while. She really didn't even know why she was bothering. She was always alone, different from everyone else. The fact that she had to use the old sixties style wheelchair didn't help either. She just needed to get out of that tomb she called an apartment, and the park was nearby. She had her friend drop her off at one of the back lots. She would be fine from there. It was really muggy and the skies were overcast, threatening rain, but she didn't care much about rain. There were places in the park to duck out of the weather. She headed for a favorite spot near the Round-Up ride where the guy she really liked worked. His name was Justin. He wasn't very tall, but he had the total package. Every chance she got, she went to watch him and sit near the ride, to steal a few moments here and there. Today, she finally had the nerve to ask him to lunch. She just about died when he accepted. The Food Court was right near the ride which worked out perfect. He ordered a bison burger, his favorite food, and she had her favorite too. It was an icecream dessert called an Antonio. She sat quietly with him at first, then he broke the silence and asked "why do you use that old chair"? She answered slowly and thoughtfully with a bit of dread. "I have serious back trouble, and I can't walk for very long." Justin smiled that smile he had and eased the tension, "I would love to give you a push every once in a while." Dom blushed terribly, or at least she felt that way. "Thanks. That would be awesome. Maybe you could come by on your day off." Justin grinned again. "Sure, How about tomorrow? I can swing by around one in the afternoon." Dom replied with a slight tremmor in her voice."that is cool, I am sure we will have a nice time." Justin finished his meal and got ready to head back to his station. ""I wished I had more time. Your pretty cute, and I like you." He kissed her on the cheek and went back to his work. Dominiques heart was thumping. She was feeling very special and kinda drifted off into thought. While she was thinking, it started to rain. She loved the rain, especially thunderstorms. They held power and beauty. She looked out from under the canopy and over to the ride, and wondered if Justin liked the rain too. Luckily, they had rain slickers to keep them dry, but if things got real bad, they would shut it down. She didn't like the idea of him possibly being moved somewhere else in the park. Not everywhere was easy to get around. There was always the chance they would let him go early. If that happened, maybe he would give her a ride home. She couldn't help but think about him. He was special for some reason. She felt as though she had known him for ages. He had his job down pat. He seemed as fluid as a dancer to her. Dom admired him a little. On his next break, she asked him about a ride home from the park. "Sure. I would be glad to. I have a big truck so that *iron clunker* won't be any trouble at all." Dom was ecstatic inside. She couldn't wait for him to be off work. Who knew it would lead to so much more. Dom would never be lonely again.
