She walked through the forest on her usual path not expecting to find anything out of the ordinary. She heard gun shots in the distance, but thought it was only hunters. A pleading howl broke the silence, and she knew this was something very wrong. She broke into a run, winding through the trees with a grace that belied her human form. Upon arriving at the source, her eyes focused in the night to see several hunters with wolves in a pen. They were goading them and then shooting them in various places.
She could not abide such cruelty. Her mind raced and she knew, that although killing was wrong, she had to take action. She raised her bow and took the first hunter down before he could make a sound. The other hunters were so drunk and spurred on by their grotesque idea of fun that they did not notice that the first one was down. She shifted swiftly and stealthily to a new point within the trees and took the next two down. Then one realised that something was not right. He called for his buddies, but they would not answer. Finally frustrated, he continued his malicious endeavors toward the wolves. She once again shifted going to the very edge of the trees. She stood gorgeous and alluring, and within her the beast. She smiled and then took the last three with nary a trouble. You see, this woman did not miss what she aimed for. She walked to the pin and went inside. Two of them were already dead and had taken their true form.
These were no ordinary wolves. They were lup garou or were wolves. They generally would not even think to tolerate one such as she. However, she did what was needed and set up a small lean to, and she began nursing their wounds. One by one they healed and went off on their way. Not very long after the last one had gone, the new leader of the pack came to her. He told her thankyou for all she had done for them, and then he asked her to give him her arm. She did so and he marked it with a special pattern. He told her she was one of them and that she never need fear of anyone doing harm to her or her lodge.
To this day, if you go wondering near that place in the forest, a chorus of wolves will sound. Take the warning and do not tread there without permission. Beware the woods at night.
