Truelife of a person living on the street
This story can be Inspirational as well as a Memoir But I'll start it like this as if to be her writing. I want to keep the real names of people in this story disclosed. I remember thinking as I woke that morning with the sound of Car horns and Voice's coming from above me. as I looked around slowly wondering and looking threw the weeds to see something that would look familiar. But not to my surprise! I was lost once again in my own town. I stood up easily still looking for some type of sign letting my mind say your ok no matter where you are. Then I saw a huge bridge over top of my head across the river I saw the fisherman as they were catching their daily sounds of the rushing of the river one Gentle man waved and yelled good morning. I proceed to wave back as if I were living in a high class neighbor hood brushing my long hair outward with my fingers, The weeds that entangled in my hair were very thick this time I look around me on the ground to see if I still had a purse from the night before their was no memory. I saw it lying their on the ground, It had very little evidence of the night before in so I just searched threw to see what was left in it. I found my hair brush but the thought of running a hair brush across my head gave me a slight head ache. I proceeded to walk down the bank toward the rushing river with not a care in my mind or thought of where I was. I only was thinking at the time I need to wash my face and wet my hair to be able to run a brush threw. The water was so cold as I splashed it in my face as if I were standing at a bath room sink I guess it was a nature type. I got my hair wet and tried to get my bearings on what I was going to do for the day. I seem to start getting hungry, so I had no Idea where breakfast was coming from this morning. I saw a trail lead up the hill to the top of the bank so away I went out to join the world and see what it had to offer today, as I walk I prayed in my mind asking the Lord to guide me to some place for food. I pray for his guidance and his will to help me make it threw this world that I so didn't understand. To help me see threw his eyes. I walk the street on the side walk threw town cars passing some waving some blowing The fear in my mind was getting larger the more I walk into this town I will call Bowling Green KY The more afraid I become. I started to pass a grocery store called Kroger's I wasn't much on them I remembered I had been a Save-lot shopper. OH well I knew Kroger's would have to do. I started down the street at the side as I walked I was thinking if I could just get a job doing something but who would hire someone that had only known how to take care of children and be a house wife I had never been introduced to the world and it's ways or if I had their wasn't any memory of it .So today I was going to look for food behind Kroger's I found a large dumpster and at the side was sitting a grocery cart. This seem to be all knew to me but at the same time It was if I had done this before . I climb up on the dumpster and some one came out the door so I hid around the other side until they were gone . I went back jumped up on the side again and Wow their was everything I needed sitting in a small box so I reach down and got the box and I pulled out some extra card board box's that had been broken down My thinking ahead I had no money and no place to live My pride had kept me from asking other's for help before. So I figured on at least having something to lie on and get under. Well I was completely Amazed at what had been put in the garbage in that box Had someone saw me here before no They couldn't have I only had came here after dark. Their was no Doubt God heard this bag ladies prayer's. I went back to my spot under the bridge pushing the grocery cart just as far as the bank, where the path started down ,I took my box of goodies the Lord had Blessed me with that day ,I had shampoo to wash my hair in the cold river but I never mind I was just grateful to have a place with running clean water, Then I thought of the passage in the bible Cleanness is next to Godliness so it is true God had wanted me to be Clean even if I was a Bag lady. In the box was things of all kinds to eat most of it was food that didn't have to be cooked. but I some how already knew how to cook soup in a can on an open fire or heat water to make some coffee their was coffee just the brand I like. My mind thought when did I ever have a particular brand how did I know this Then my head began to hurt from thinking to hard their was even aspirin that was in the box I had a big bag with a set of cloths my clothing need a desperate washing so down to the river I went, their was also a small bottle of tide, in the box a bar of hand soap that spring smell was so knew for me now I'm going to get a bath and a bath I did take all over in my cloth's also a bottle of Lotion for women. I took my Bath in the river and scrub my other dirty ones out on a rock I rung them out and notice the men were gone that was fishing so I was all alone. I went back to my little spot hung my cloths over the tall weeds and kept the wet ones on By the end of the day my cloths were dry It was soon going to be night I took the card board boxes up under the bridge concrete and made a spot to sleep I had a 4x4 lean to type place to sleep Clean cloths on me the Sun was baring down brightly so I knew by dark my cloths would be dry I built a small fire by my little spot out of drift wood I sit their thinking about how life had been and what part's My mind would allow me to see. I soon got sleepy and was dry and I pray for another day as good as this one and told the Lord how grateful I was for the Gifts he had bestowed me and drifted off into a sleep and dream of life either during before or after of becoming a Bag lady .
