A story of love, strength, compassion, pain, spirtual grace, and eternal life. Writing about Joshua , helped to heal the terrible pain of loss and dispair I felt. It was part of the healing process for me. He still lives on in Gods kingdom. I wrote the story in four short parts. I hope many will take the time to read about Josh and how valiently he fought to live.
Joshua was born April 8, 1998 to
our son, Rick and his wife Jessica at St Josephs Hospital. He was a
beautiful baby with light golden hair, an oval shaped face and deep bule eyes.
We were all overjoyed about his birth. He looked just like his daddy had when he was born.
About three hours after his birth, the nurse brought him to Jessica's
room. Jess began checking his little body like most new moms do. When she
looked at his legs they were,"blue".
Rick rushed to get the nurse. Joshua was hurriedly taken back to the nursery . Oxygen and I.Vs were started. He was put in Infant ICU. Doctor Rodriguez ordered many different tests.
We all waited anxiously for any
word of his test results, and condition. We went to the nursery to see him. He looked so small and fragile in the special infant crib.
Wires were attached to his head . Intervenous fluids were slowly dripping in to his tiny arm. A heart monitor showed an irregular heart rate, while an oxygen mask covered his pale face. Fear of the unknown assailed our senses. We prayed while
we wept.
Minutes merged into hours as we waited for news about what was wrong with him. About midnight, the doctor came to Jessicas room and said, Joshua's condition had stabilized. The test results were not all completed. He'd tell us more in the morning.
Rick stayed at the hospital with Jessica. My husband and I drove slowly home.
We were mentally and physically drained. We wondered what the new day would bring as we fell into a troubled
sleep.
This must have been a nerve-wrecking event. It is devastating to find out something was wrong with the new baby just hours after it was born. I can feel for everyone's pain through your write.
So glad I am reading his story. I know you told me about it in the message you sent, and I am glad to read it myself off your den. I could cry I feel so for you. All that you have been through was more than anyone should have to bear. Thanks for sharing your stories. I need them now. At this time before Father's Day I get sad on holidays. You are very entertaining to me in these write. If I did not enjoy them I would not read them. They are so sorrowful, but in a way a blessing too. Blessings go out to you today.
This one is powerfully emotional; to see such a perfect baby and know there is something wrong with him must have been shattering. I look forward to reading more about what you went through with Joshua.
A sad write, I hope all turned out well with your grandson, this had a lot of heart poured into it and I look forward to reading more
God Bless
