I brought Joshua's cremains home on Sunday, Feb,11,07 . Born: April, 8, 1998. Journeyed to heaven :May 25, 2000 . I have written the story of Joshua's life on AD. He's gone but not forgotten! His memory and soul live on.
Joshua, our grandson lived
with us through out his short
life. Our daughter in law, Jessica
was unable to care for him, and cope with his illness.I always respected her
for saying ,"I can't do this"!Our son, Rick worked, and could not devote much time to Joshua.
He required total constant care, and could not see,nor turn himself. He was fed via a gastric tube. Seizures were a part of his daily existance, and frequent hospitalizations filled his life.
He fought courageously to live, and touched many lives . We all knew he
was going to die, but when it happened, we were still not prepared.
After his funeral, she took his cremains home, and he has been with her all these years. I had him life, and she had him in death.
His spirit has been with me all these years, yet I longed for him to be
here too.
I asked her once if I could have his cremains for a while, and she had said "no". This Sunday, my wish came true . My heart is full of joy and contentment! Joshua is home at last! I sing songs of happiness as I thank God for answering my prayers.
Having a child with such a terrible illness, took a toll on Rick and Jessicas marriage .They divorced years ago, and now she is moving. Rick is coming home too.. "My cup runneth over"!
I am sure this can be very hard to watch. I am sure Jessica felt she could not watch as her beautiful baby suffered and knew that you were strong enough to be there for him. Thank you MaryGrace for sharing this with us. God sends Angels where and when they are needed.
