True story

On December 12, 2009, I had a auto accident. And, yes, as wrong as it was, I did have a couple of beers, But, since, I lived only two miles from where I had my two beers, I guess I thought what’s it going to hurt, and I’ve driven a lot further than that, with a lot more in body than that, so it’s was all good. At least, I thought that then, but it will never happen again. Either I will spend that twenty bucks on a cab, or stay in my very own backyard. Lesson well learned.

But, that was not the only factor of my accident, between mother nature and winter time in Michigan and my now ex-boyfriend, grabbing the steering wheel, and sliding into a tree, those three just did not mix. Another well lesson learned.

Now, why do I feel the justice system is not working for us in our town of Alpena, Michigan. Well, here are the facts,

Even, though I was not arrested the night of the accident, I was arrested five months later on May 5, 2010. I was in South Carolina at the time, I got a call from a friend, telling me a state trooper was at my house, stating that he had a warrant for my arrest, I came back to Michigan on my own, wondering what for. When, I returned home, I called them and they came and arrested me, telling me I was arrested for intoxication, from the accident. I was dumbfounded. I didn’t know they could do this.

I called my friend to tell him, I was being arrested, could he come and pick me up, when they released me.

He said, “Sure, I will meet you there,”

On the way home, from the Sheriff’s department, he told me Kenny Krueger, who had been my boyfriend at the time of the accident, had been arrested two weeks earlier for DWI. Since my friend knew a couple of mutual friends, they told him, that Kenny had made the statement he thinks I am the one who called him in. Number one, I was in S,C., number two, I didn’t know he was going to the bars again and three, I really didn’t care what he did with his life now, I just wanted him out of mine. No one that does drugs and lies about it is worth my time, and I had caught him playing the system of claiming that he was in a lot of pain and could not put any weight on his leg that got injured in the accident. After all, he was part of the cause of the accident and he was not wearing his seatbelt.

Now, since I have been arrested for DWI, in May, I have already been to court, gotten my sentence, given my probation guidelines. Kenny has yet been to court. How does this happen? Shouldn’t he have already been to court and at least put on probation, have his driver’s license taken away? And, this is his second one.

I guess when you sue someone’s insurance for twenty-thousand dollars and now can afford a good attorney, I guess this is what happens. Mind you the same attorney that did his lawsuit against my insurance company is the same one for his DWI. He has been bragging that his attorney would take care of everything, I guess he has, as well as maybe even thrown a few bucks to the Prosecuting Attorney.

So, beware, when you hear someone speak of the justice system, it might have left a bitter taste in their mouth, for it’s not always justice for all.
