I’m accepting your challenge one more time,

my life, my goals will not be mocked by you.

Since I’ve gotten my divorce, life has been quite the challenge.

Gale has came swept the rug right out from under my feet. She has even laughed, thought she had won, but I have news for her. She hasn’t won yet, for there is always a gateway to happiness and new doors opened, whenever one closes.

Things were actually going good for awhile. Till I relented and let a friend, become a roommate, that didn’t work out so well. I found out what kind of a friend they were, when my Jimmy burned in August 2009. Another good came out of a bad situation.

Then, in December, I had my car accident, which another good came out in the long run, as well as finding out, just how my now boyfriend, who has been a great friend, been there for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I had other good friends that were there for me, when I needed something, and would check on me, get me out of the house, just because they thought I needed it and take me with them wherever they went for the day and evening, out to dinner, etc.

But, since my accident in December, as well as losing my wheels, I also lost my job and there for while, I thought I was going to seriously lose my life savings, as well as my kids inheritance, which wasn’t much, but it was going to be a little bit for them to get by for awhile.

My boyfriend Dan and I were talking one night. We had discussed moving in together before, but because he had gone through a bad divorce, he really didn’t know if he wanted to take that step, so I backed off. I certainly didn’t want to lose him again, even though after the first time we were boyfriend, we had still remained good friends and still did things together.  The day after my accident, I called him and told him what had happened, and he was there at the hospital, even though I had been released and was visiting my friend and waiting with his mom till he had surgery.

After I was released from doctor’s care, in March it was time to find a job and get on with my life. That has not been so easy. My son called me and said, “Mom, maybe this is the time to come down and check things out here, so I took him up on his offer. While I was there, I found out I was being arrested for DWI / OUIL and found that once on probation I could not leave the state with permission of the court and they would not give it to me, till I did there treatment program and paid my fines, plus they took my license for a year, so I was grounded, even though I could have left, I would have had to get a moving van, pay mega bucks and rode the bus down there. It just seem Gale was getting her revenge one more time.

I had spoke of my plans and failure to Dan, and he out of the blue, while we were having dinner, “Why don’t you come live with me?

I was totally stunned and just at him, till he spoke again,
“Well, what do you think of the idea?”

I responded with, “I thought you didn’t want to live with anyone?”

He shrugged his shoulders and said, “Well, I don’t want you to leave, I love you and it would help both of us out.”

I was thrilled, and we moved in together.  So far it has gone far better than what both of us thought, especially considering, neither one of us really wanted to live with someone.

I’ve been able to hold up my end of the deal so far, with my unemployment and since I have all this time on my hands, for there is only so much you can clean an apartment, I am back in school.

So, Gale, we are going to give this getting a degree, another shot, you have thrown obstacles in my way, before, and I had to stop, then I would get to start again, and here you go again with another sweep, but this it’s different, this time, I am not under the stress, I was before, I don’t have to wonder if I am going to have the time to get my  assignments done, still get enough sleep to make it to work on time and be functional, if my vehicle is going to give me problems, or any of those little things that can stop you in one’s tracks.

I have a great guy in my life, that is not judgmental, is not critical if I don’t understand something, in matter of fact he is a very intelligent guy, who has been through what I’m going through with these classes that I have been able to start again. I have him to back me up, he doesn’t throw my faults and failures at me. He cheers me on and is willing to help solve a problem when I just don’t quite understand, someone who is very independent and that will help me on household errands, is not demanding.

I’ve got back up this time!

So, Gale, bring it on, try to knock me off my feet this time, bitch!

Hang in there. My very favorite saying is, "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." Dance away, girl. You're on your way.
