Most women get abused and stay...
They stay for the name of love,as they claim..
They stay for their children,as they claim..
Abuse is like cheating if he does it once,he'll do it again....
Then why do they keep on staying?
“Where are you from?” she asks.
He walks away and never replies.
“Goddamit!it’s after midnight….were you with one of your ho’s again?”she shouts while following him.
He turns,
He slaps her.
“Oh…so the truth hurts?”
He turns again,
He slaps her again only this time much harder.
She screams and trys to fight back.
“Is that all you can do?”she screams while trying to defend herself.
He punches …she’s quick and escapes it…but not for too long,he punches,slaps and hits her like she’s a man.
She hurting,
She’s crying,
then screams out loud.
“Camara!………Camara!”
She walks in with tears on her face.
“Daddy!..”she shrieks.”live mom alone”as she pulls helplessly at her fathers clothes….as if it would help.
He threw her on the other side of the room.

”Mamy….I had fun” she chuckled.
“I know baby…come on go change your clothes and off to bed” she kisses her on the cheek.
“What was that all about?” he storms through the door.

“What—-”before she even finished.
A slap,
A punch,
“Daddy!Stop!”she screamed.
“Why are you hitting me?”she cried.

Behind closed doors,
she cries.
Outside,
she lies.
She lies about her swollen lip,
She lies about the darkness around her eye which she covers with sun glasses.
she lies about his infidelity,
she lies about the abuse,
she lies to sugar-coat the hurt.
What she doesn’t know is the lies aren’t enough for she still hurts Camara by doing so,
Who when behind closed doors weeps silently and awaits for the next attack.
He hits her with no good reason,
wanting to be the man of the season.
A real man would know better than that,
but hows he going to know about that?
for his mama taught him nothing like that.
