I am a firm believer in God and how your life is planned out for you.
I have always been around gay and lesbians, not a problem. I look back on the years and found the true meaning of hindsight, I noticed a change in him during a time called pre-teen as a mother you think ,lord I am suppose to love this child, I don,t even like him.
Now I relize he was probly thinking the same thing , I should love who I am and I don,t even like myeself.
At fifteen He tried and almost succeeded at suicide, he laid in ICU hooked up to every machine that could monitor a major organ, he laid there for four days, me at his side praying.
At the end of the fourth day I was totally spent, I worried and cried and prayed , I Imangined, Oh how I imangined! What my life would be without him and I knew if he did not make it I would not be far behind. It did not matter that I would leave behind parents, siblings and my husband it just did not matter,
When I was broken I fell to my knees at his bedside and wept and prayed like I have never prayed before, And thats when it happened, altho my eyes were closed a light went before my closed eyes and a warmth and light went throughtout me. I wanted to stay in the comfort I was feeling, I wanted to stay there forever I felt good, really good.
The feeling was passing I looked up and his eyes were opening slowly, very slow,
I realized I was holding my breath afraid that it was just part of a wonderful dream I was having .That place I did not want to leave. Mom ? I see his lips move I wipe my eyes thinking I need to see more clearly. God had answered my prayer He knew that I could not go on without my only child, altho he had.
So a few years later when I found out that he was gay I did,nt judge ,I did not throw him out of my life, instead I embraced him !I let him know that I will always be there, and since then I have learned it is only a small part of who he is. He is so much more, and he is alive and well ,happy and has goals and dreams and problems and bills and a partner who makes him mad ,a partner that loves him and supports his dreams and treats him good and they are happy.
My best outings are when I go to visit and see how they live he is no different than me, his dad and I love them both he makes us laugh, He told me once mom you got the best of a son and a daughter we can pick out dish pattrens.
In closing parents dont, write your kids or family off, embrace them! they are worth getting to know and myself I would rather go to their home than their gravesite, you cant work out differences if they are dead. Go to rw2gallery.com to see what I could have missed out on
