A story I renew with a love every Valentines Day, and try to live everyday.
A Love Story
It’s such a sad day for me , Its also scary, but is not without hope.
You see today is the day that I realized I’d lost my best friend, along with that I also lost my heart, soul, feeling for others and the reason I am on this earth. I realized it today but when did it happen? How did it happen ? I guess it was gradual, It started when I forgot his birthday and then there was the mornings when the rain was falling softly or the snow was drifting into great soft pillows, or the night I looked out and seen the brightest stars and thought it’s getting late and I have a big day, I better get to sleep.
When I was a child I had two very different grandfathers, both ministers, My dad’s dad was a fire and brimstone preacher and a very unhappy man, He wasn’t very pleasant to be around. Then there was grandpa Gregg he was so special, The church was small, you moved to another pew for Sunday school, The collection plate was passed once, and I would put my dime in. If you were good thru service a gumdrop and a gumball would be given. But if grandpa looked at you from the pulpit with a look only he could give ,You knew to straighten up and remember who’s house you were at, You just did not want to disappoint grandpa
It was a time that I wanted my son to experience in his life ,so I took him to a church close to home and within a hour the collection plate had been past 3 times and everything was in gold and I felt not the spirit of God there but the wantonness of man I left. There was no comfort there,
I am now working at getting that fullness that inner glow that I felt when I was young and in his life , with him being in mine. The only way there is to do that is to remember my best friend and ask him back into my life so I can feel special again. You see the one I am talking about is Our Lord, Our Father, Our Savior Jesus Christ.
I want that feeling back again , I will have it one day soon , It’s a Love Story that can’t go wrong , so on this February 14TH I am asking him back in my life to be my valentine.
