A story about giving and being thankful for others that do.

One cold night in November, before Thanksgiving Day, I heard a knock upon our door and someone ran away. Momma went outside to see, who was on our porch, then put her hand upon her mouth, as if it had been scorched. Two sacks were overflowing, of foods of different kinds, the fixings for Thanksgiving Day that was on my Momma''s mind. We had no way of knowing, who gave us all this food, then Momma had a great idea, and from it we''d know who. She invited all the neighbors and our little church. She invited all our relatives and everyone from work. The morning of Thanksgiving Day another knock came on our door, a boy scout with more sacks in hand said, “I thought you''d need some more”.

Lovely! The time for miracles is not just at Christmas time. Wonderful things happen to us at the most unexpected moments. The kindness of the story warms the heart, most since it was passed on by inviting all those people.

THIS STORY IS WONDERFUL, I ENJOYED IT. ONE OFTEN HEARS FROM THE GIVER WHO WAS INSPIRED, OUT OF THE BLUE, TO GIVE. BUT NOT OFTEN FROM THE RECEIVER OF GOODS LEFT BY A STRANGER. IT HAS THE LESSONS OF GIVING, RECEIVING, SHARING AND THE UNEXPECTED OF ONE RETURNING TO THE SCENE OF THE BLESSING(SMILE). THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

We learned to practice good deeds in Boy Scouts, but that's one we never did. What a wonderful thing those scouts did for your family. And your Momma certainly spread the generosity by making sure that no one that she knew went without a Thanksgiving dinner.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful memory with us.
