It’s amazing how you start off doing one thing, and then life throws a curve ball and forces you to alter your course. It’s also amazing how one day things appear one way and then within 24 hours, crap happens. Just like all the Black Women before me have adapted and plunged forward, so will I. Before I go on, I have to admit; once again I have been bitten by what so many refer to as “the love bug”. I refer to him as “the love vampire”.

Never ever give anyone your complete trust. Never give anyone your heart totally. Yes I have, more than once and that is why I stand on this principle today. However, after this bout with the “love vampire”, I am ready to “fold”. Yes, it’s good to feel as if you can share your body, soul, and mind with someone worthy.
Caution, there is always someone waiting around the corner ready to take all of those things just to leave you feeling raped, busted, and disgusted. That someone pretends to have your best interest at heart. “He” or “She” actually believes the lies they tell you. As a matter of fact, you both are convinced that you are in Heaven. The need to consume and to be consumed is so great. It’s a craving. It’s a high. Once they latch on to you, with your approval of course, they slowly slice you to pieces bit by bit with their ragged claws. They don’t slice away at you all at once. No, this would be heartless. It’s not in their nature.
Those savages slice away at your flesh as if their addicted to your blood and will never ever get another hit. You hang around to fulfill their every desire while becoming an enabler in the process.When your body has been successfully stripped of human tissue, then the chopping of your bones begin. The process goes on for hours, days, months, and/or even years. Their intent is to reach your heart. Your intent is to offer it. Their goal is to place your heart in the palm of their hands. You see, once they control the heart, the brain will undoubtedly follow. Ironically though, the brain is secondary, yet it is the ultimate object of their desire. These “loving” people or vampires infiltrate their way of thinking into your brain by way of your heart, the left and right ventricle.
The infiltration is done via whispers! Oh, it is a ritual, practiced by many. Can you believe it? Their syrupy sweet whispers enter into the auditory canal then miraculously plot its course to your veins while screaming to every part of your body, “I love you”, “You are my world”, “I am so crazy about you”, “You are everything to me”, etc. The list goes on and on.
Haven’t we all fallen prey at one point or another? Haven’t we all been held hostage by this beast? Oh, I’m sorry. It is only I who has taken this ride on cloud nine only to land on my face. I am convinced that there isn’t a drug in the world that can tantalize every organ in the body as this drug does.
The most horrible part, discovered by many, is that many realize very early on that they are selling their souls to the devil. Very few turn back, however, after this realization. Very few notice that they will land face down, ass up. To your friends, you look ridiculous. But just you wait, the vampire doesn’t discriminate. Those feeding you advice and those laughing behind your back will soon join you or take your place. It’s almost inevitable.
Now, you can’t go through life afraid. Just be ready when your number is called. Remember what I’ve shared with you, although you will choose to forget because the magnitude of the “bite” is just that great. All the advice you gave to your friends will become null and void. For, it is your turn and to you your course is definitely different. Please spare others the speech of how different it is. The best thing for you to do, is to take your ride, while praying along the way. For, the “love vampire” will either come like a thief in the night, or he may choose to hang on for eternity. Either way, he draws blood.
