When?
When did you spill through my being?
Was it in Fall: richest in color and scent
Musky earth's breath in damp caress
Did golden grass wrap hands around my heart?
Or when we danced through crisp blue skies,
Did love greet me then, in your eyes?
Could it have been as oak leaves lingered
Or when winter's kiss became a frothy ground of white,
Or when ice glistened in sparkling delight?
Clear prisms magnifying our desire,
Or cocooned in softest down, bare by the fire?
Might love have come walking with us in the rain?
Through jonquil paths in spring,
Blown blooms whisper of promise seen,
Was it then you grew inside my being?
Did we find in summer's night, starlit trance
Above darkest dome, in full moon light
Stars and planets divine in finite sight
Our destiny to be used,
Was it then that our souls were fused?
It all matters not:
When, why nor how
Infinite you spill,
Through my being, now.
