Deirdre was cursed to spend eternity in the water unless she could pass the curse onto somebody else. Derek was on the brink of making the biggest mistake of his life. It was fate that the two meet, and as Deirdre contemplates passing the curse onto Derek he is begging for her to do it. The problem arises when they fall in love. How can they be together if one is cursed to spend eternity as a water sprite? Can they figure it out in time, or will they never be able to be together as one?
PROLOGUE
“So you have finally come to me?” the man asked in my dreams. His voice was more than sexy, and when he probed my legs open, I spread them eagerly.
His head slipped between my legs, and I felt light kisses on my inner thighs, and the tingles that ensued were heavenly. I made small noises from the back of my throat, and when his tongue grazed my already engorged clit, I felt like screaming with pleasure. It wasn’t until he slipped that impossibly long tongue deep inside me that I came and it was quite a shock to cum so quickly. I was completely taken aback by it.
I urged him on with sounds, my nails digging into the back of his head, and when he drew back, he slowly kissed up my body until he captured my lips in a searing kiss that left me more breathless then the orgasm.
I could feel is hardness against my stomach and he shifted again to make his entry easier, then slammed into me. His silky cock in and out, over and over made me wet. More wet than usual. His tongue probed my mouth in time with his long muscle entering my wet pussy. It was all too much for me, and I soon came again.
CHAPTER ONE
That was almost eighty years ago. I have been stuck here, walking the small pebbly shore after the sun gives way to the moon, and sleeping in the water, evaporating at first light into mist with each new day. The only way I will ever leave this place is to pass the curse onto somebody else. By the same means that he had been cursed to stay here, I am cursed to forever be trapped in the water, to never see the light of day with my eyes again. I have waited to no avail for eighty years for someone to come along, to sleep near this prison of mine, Solstice Springs, so that I can finally escape. People come and visit during the day only to leave the camp somewhere else at night. The stories surrounding the springs were famous even in my day, but something about the name—Solstice Springs—called to me. It has a nice ring to it, romantic and foreboding at the same time.
I need a male to camp near the spring so I can finally leave this place. I am so hungry with lust that it is driving me mad. If I had only listened to my mother, none of this would have happened. She told me to go to a resort to get over him, but I did not want to be around people so instead I went to the mountains to be alone, to grieve. If I had only listened to her, I would be a little old lady by now, if not dead. I wonder what has changed in the world in the last eighty years. I wonder if anybody I knew has lived this long?
I may be the last person in my family. Everybody I know has long past on, and I am cursed to live in this place, not really here but not gone either. What luck? And if I ever do get out of this place, I am never going camping again.
* * * *
Derek needed one last weekend alone before spending the rest of his life with Jamie. He begged off the bachelor party to camp and think his life through. Of course, Jamie was pissed off at his second-guessing the wedding and the family he would soon have. But he told her how it was: the only reason they were even getting married was because of the pregnancy.
When Derek came upon the beautiful spring in the middle of nowhere, he was convinced that the sound of the water and the small clearing would be just the place to pitch a tent. It comforted him in some small way, and he felt himself relax. He had heard the scary stories about Solstice Spring, but he did not believe in all of that. He had three nights to figure out if he would be a gentleman and marry Jamie. It may be an old-fashioned concept, but then Derek and Jamie had been raised in the country and she was counting on him to do the right thing. But was it the right thing to marry a woman you don’t love?
All these thoughts ran through Derek’s head as he set up his camp. By the time the sun began its descent, Derek had opened a bottle of Jack Daniels. His plan: get shit-faced drunk, pass out, and possibly hike his hangover off tomorrow.
Building up a large fire in the center of his camp as the sun set, Derek sat and watched the flames dance to his alcohol blurred vision and thought about easier times, past times.
