A short story about a woman who tries to secure love, romance and commitment all in a weekend. She then discovers love begins with loving yourself.

        "The Weekend Part III"

"My I was in a deep sleep.  It's three o'clock.  Suddenly Joyce recieved a revelation in a audio voice.  "Do not trust this man.  He wants to hurt and steal from you." Joyce always took these inner messages into consideration.

I"ll meditate for ten minutes,I always recieve clarity.  Oh thank you God for this revelation now I know what to do.  So Mister Stanley is not interested in me.  He only wants to destory me.  This explains why our realtionship never grew.  I thought the weekend would draw us closer together.  He only wanted to take my money, power, and joy.

Joyce decided to telephone the front desk and request having her suite changed.

"Yes this is Joyce Langley in suite 204.  I would like to request to have my suite changed.  Would this be possible?"

"Most certainly.  We will move you to suite 700.  All you need to do is leave the key.  I'll have the maid open your new suite. The new key will be inside.  Maid service will come now to move your  belongings."

"Oh thank you very much."

"You're welcome Ms. Langley.  Is there anything else?"

"Yes! give my number to no-one."

"You bet."

"Thanks."

"Good bye."

"Oh! My it is a quarter to four," thought Joyce.  "I yet must meet Stanley at the pool.  I can't wait.  I'll wear this beautiful teal two piece bathing suit  Oh here's my teal thongs.  I'll need a wrap, sunglasses and water."

Arriving at the pool Joyce approached Stanley.  "Hi sweetie," said Joyce.

"Well you're in good mood," said Stanley.

"Yeah it is amazing what a little nap will do for you.  It will heighten your senses," laughed Joyce.

"Well baby while you swim I'll go for a nap," said Stanley.

"Okay fine enjoy your nap." laughed Joyce.

"What's so funny?" said Stanley.

"Oh you know me I'm the funny girl."

Stanley walked away.  He thought,"That bitch."

Joyce waited for two minutes.  When she couldn't see Stanley in sight.  "I'll head for the suite."  Arriving at the suite, opening the door.  "This suite is better than the other one.  They managed to decorate just like I had it.  All of my belongings are here just not Stanley."

"Hallelujah! Thank you God.  I wonder how Stanley will feel when he discovers he can't get into the suite?" Joyce laughed.

Joyce has a revelation.  At suite 204 stood Stanley trying to use the keycard to open the suite door.  But it doesn't work.  "This key is not working," said Stanley.  "I know I"ll call Joyce on her cell phone."

"Hi this is Joyce.  I'm probably in Mexico or Aruba.  Who knows where I am.  Try me later."

Great she's not answering.  I'll call the front desk.

"Hi, I'm a guest here at the Inn, and my keycard is not allowing me to enter the suite."

"What's your suite number Sir?"

"It's 204."

"I'm sorry but that suite is empty."

"That can't be right.  I'm in suite 204."

"Sir what is your name?"

"Stanley Rogers."

"I checked the guest register there is no listing with the name Stanley Rogers."

"Well do you have a guest named Joyce Langley?"

"Sir at the guest; request this information can not be shared."

"I know Ms. Langley is registered in 204."

"No 204 is empty," said the man on the telephone.  "I'm sorry Sir I can't help you.

Stanley stood there in total despair beat at his own game.  I'll keep trying to reach Joyce.  I will walk over to the pool several times, hopefully I'll find her.

It is now 6:15pm still no Joyce.  I'm getting hungry, I have no money,my car is on empty and my cell phone battery has expired.  I at least can get a cocktail and a snack at the clubhouse."

Stanley joyfully headed over to the clubhouse.  The clubhouse was a sight to see.  It reminded me of a ski lodge with high stonewalls and moose heads along with deer heads extending from the walls.  This really impressed me, thought Stanley.

People were sitting around nibbling on snacks and sipping cocktails.  Stanley walks over by the little sandwhiches.  The desk attendant approaches him.  "Excuse me sir you're not allowed in the clubhouse area wearing swim trunks.  To you must have a shirt on."

"All of my belongings are locked in my suite."

"Well why didn't say so."

"I've been trying to explain this to the front desk."

"I apologize for this inconvenience," said the desk attendant.  "I'll check the guest register again.  What's your name and suite number sir?"

"My name is Stanley Rogers, the suite is 204."

"I'm sorry but 204 is empty. I can't allow you in the clubhouse.  It's for registered guest only.  So please release the key card then leave the premises or I"ll have to call the cops."

"It will not be necessary to telephone the cops.  Here is the key card."

It's now 8pm, Stanley was hungry and doesn't know what to do.  It is cold.  All sorts of thoughts began to race through Stanley's head.  Maybe Joyce left. I  certainly wore out my welcome thought Stanley.

Stanley makes a decision to leave.  He just remembered he had ten dolars in his glove compartment, He at least could get gas.

Stanley continued in his thoughts.  I really underestimated Joyce.  She showed me.  It seems like things always work out for this woman.  It's like God and her guardian angel is always around her.  Stanley gets into his automobile and drives off.

In the meantime Joyce is resting safely and at peace in her weekend suite.  Joyce thought to herself.  "God bless Stanley, wherever he might be.  I'm grateful for this weekend, even though Stanley turned out to be a jerk.  He shedded alot of light on his chracter.  which helped me to realize he wasn't the man for me. So I will no longer seek a weekend man.  I'll wait on God to send me a forever man," thought Joyce.  She prayed then drifted into a peaceful sleep.
