“You will die March 3rd of this year.”
The squeaky child-like voice said from behind the lattice window screen, as he squeezed the pudgy hand it held and let go.
The corpulent man inside pulled his hand from the open slot, as if he had touched a hot iron. He trembled and swallowed hard asking,
“Are you absolutely sure? He asked shifting his sturdy weight composing his cheap Armani-imitation suit and tie.
“Yes, that is the date I saw inside my head” the séance mysterious voice replied.
The fat tall man let out his breath, almost as if relieved for the information he was given,
He took a deep breath filling his overweight gait almost tearing his tight shirt and asked,
“Do you have any details, about how, where, and who of my death?”
“I’m sorry, I don’t” the voice answered, and continued
“But as your agreement stated before we started your reading, I can only go as far as giving you the day of your death, nothing more, nothing less,” the voice answered defiantly.
“Have you ever been wrong or made a mistake? Can someone change or reverse their death day?” The fat man asked nervously.
The voice answered defiantly “Look, I wish we could go on chatting, but as you can see, I have a very busy day ahead, and I’m already behind, so I’m going to ask you to leave”
The fat man looked toward the lobby and saw it was getting busy and filled with people, this infuriated him, He pulled out a gun and asked,
“Do you have any idea who you’re speaking with? He asked, not waiting for an answer, he said. “I’m Tony “Spanky” Robolado and I own this block” he said agitated.
He barked orders to one his two bodyguards, “get these people out of here, lock the doors, and put the close sign on the door,”
He motioned the other bodyguard, “Drag this Son of Bitch out of his hiding place,” to which the bodyguard obeyed opened the cubicle where the voice was in, and drag the body out.
Tony almost laughed when he saw the small lanky figure dragged approaching him, it reminded him of the disappointment the characters of Wizard of Oz felt, when they met the real oz. In a display of arrogance and power Tony laughed at the scrawny man’s predicament,
“I think you are going to make some time for me, now” he laughed in a dry husky voice,
“Get him on his knees”
The bodyguards pulled the séance’s body by the arms and pulled him back on his knees. “Look at me when I talk to you” Tony said boastful and arrogant as he kicked the Séance’s body,
“So you think you’re hot shit around here huh? Tony asked in a mocking voice,
The séance didn’t answer; Tony saw his lips moving, like he was trying to say something.
“Answer me you Son of a bitch,” Tony yelled,
The séance was whispering something but Tony could not hear him. Tony got close enough to the séance lips to hear his voice, “What’s today date? The séance asked,
Tony stared at the hypnotizing séance’s eyes. Tony scrolled back into his memory to place himself but by then it was too late. The séance was quick and took Tony’s gun and shot him right between the eyes. Tony fell back flat on his back never knowing what had happened. His death eyes opened in disbelief and shock.
Tony’s bodyguards frightened and surprised ran for their lives. The séance got up looked at the body and said, “Today’s date is March 3, your dying day.”

The moral is “Don’t ask unless you want to know” or in this case find out.
