     ...a mischievous wee-one...and a few more limericks

And here it ‘tis, nearing St. Paddy’s Day, and wouldn’t ye know I’ve not been doing’ me mischievous ways, yet.

Ah, ‘tis a Leprechaun I am, wouldn’t ye know. Oh, ye’ say ye
knew that by me little green suit, didja now? And there’s me hair being red as a flamin’ carrot? Sure, and ‘tis a give-away, I’m thinkin’.

Don’t be troublin’ me wit yer “Ohs! and Yipes!” Ye must know
that if ye don’t have on the green, ‘tis me right to give ye a nip or two – right on your backsides, me dearies. ‘Tis not faultin’

me, y’d be thinkin’, would ye now! Ya know I have me reputation to think of, fer Pat’s sake.

Ah, and ‘tis no need ye be hunting fer me gold…’tis hidden far
from the eyes such as ye; I’d not be a careless one, ye know.

What’s that ye be saying? Ye wouldn’t be tryin’ to get me tipsy, now, would ye? ‘Tis kind of ye to offer me a pint or two, and
how could I not oblige ye, sweet! Aye, and with a Shamrock right on the top o’ the foam-head o’ Guinness! And wouldn’t ye be the clever one, now!

Well then, should ye be temptin’ me, would ye make it four
pints? I’d be tellin’ where ta’ other ‘WBugs’ be hidin’ their gold, then!
HEE, hee, hee, hee, hee!

A FEW MORE LIMERICKS

There once was a wee Leprechaun
who felt he was quite put-on
by those after his gold –
they were ever so bold –
so he ran with his gold and was gone.

In
Dublin t’was a man name of Guinness
who thought his stout was the best.
To prove himself right
he’d brew every night,
and, sure ‘nuf Guinness was the bestess.

A wee Leprechaun, Mike his name,
thought mischief was surely a game
he’d nip and pinch
ev’ry lass and wench
then hide so as not to take blame.

Fair warning t’ ye’all: sure’n be wearin’ o’ the green on St. Paddy’s Day (March 17), lest the Leprechauns getcha!

I'll sure be wearin the green come St. Paddy's Day; don't want to aggravate them little leprechaun fellas; no sir! They still magically turn me old Chicago River Emerald Green, each and every St. Paddy's Day.
