A story of love, lies and confusion. The intent is to show what happens when communication is missing from a relationship.
It was a little after seven in the evening when Kevin got home from work. He noticed his wife Justine was not home as he expected. As he picked up the phone he realized that there was a waiting message on the machine. The message was for his wife. It was from her old college boyfriend. The words of the message were, “Hey Justine, this is Michael I have a business meeting in your area next Tuesday. I was just wondering if I could see you for lunch. You know to catch up on old times, been a while since I’ve seen you”. Give me a call back and let me know if it’s possible I would love to see you. The message ended and Kevin deleted it.
Two hours later his wife was home. Surprisingly Kevin didn’t say anything to her about the phone call. Three days later while Justine and her friend Lorna was home Michael called back.
“Hello” said Justine as she picks up the phone.
“Hi Justine this is Michael” he replied.
“Michael!” she said in astonishment.
“You sound surprise” said Michael.
“Michael I’m married how did you get my number” she replied worryingly.
“You’re married I didn’t know that, I’m coming in town on Tuesday and was hoping to see you for lunch.
“Michael I’m married I can’t have lunch with you”
“Why not it’s just lunch” he said before she was finish?
“Michael I can’t think about this right now I’ll have to call you back. I’ll talk to you later bye”.
“Wait, wait, wait” at least take the info on where I’m going to be just in case you change you mind.
The conversation ended and they both hanged up but not before he was able to give her the info on where he’s going to be.
“Was that who I think it is” said Lorna as Justine Hanged up.
“Yes, says he’s going to be at some hotel Tuesday and want us to meet for lunch”, replied Justine.
“So what’s the problem” asked Lorna.
“Hello! I have a husband are you forgetting” Justine replied.
“So what it’s not like you’re going to sleep with him, well are you”
“No! Are you crazy, but I wouldn’t want Kevin meeting some high school girlfriend for lunch” Justine quickly replied.
