A short follow-up to FOX & HOUND, HONEYMOON RECON takes jewel thief Todd into a mobster's mansion to nick diamonds for his soon-to-be wife...but runs into some intriguing interference along the way...
Todd pricked his ears for the tiniest sound like the hound he'd been christened as when he'd joined his foxy partner over a year ago. Knowing the layout—he'd studied the plans for weeks behind Celestia's back—he moved with ease into the master bedroom suite overlooking the stunning drop to the sea from the cliffside balcony beyond the glass doors.
It wasn't the vista that called to Todd. Rico's closet on the right was open, beckoning him in.
The safe door gleamed in the reflection of his light. He closed the distance, brushed his gloved hand over the stark steel. Reaching into his pack, he fumbled for his drill.
Something hard, small, and round dug into the center of his back.
His pulse drummed as he raised his hands over his head. Son of a bitch. Someone did try to take my job. He began to turn his head to glimpse who, but the barrel of the gun dug harder into his spine.
Then a breath washed over his throat, making gooseflesh rise over his skin. Shivers chased the sensation as angel-soft lips brushed, whisper light, over his ear. "You're not wearing your tux."
