The years are flying by, can't seem to slow them down...
Been many places, experiences number in the unknown
Can't recall childhood like others seem to record
Growing up was a wonder, even some I could not afford

Will I be pretty, will I be smart....Will I find my Prince?
Questions, one after another, entered my mind and senses..
Soon life took over, little time to plan...He found me,
We married, and the babies came...one, two...three!

Hard times and good times, sorrows, tragedy and joys
Filled the years, as the three outgrew their young toys
Later the Prince fell asleep and did not wake,
Choices were many, most I did not want to take....

Alone and learning to walk once again... searching meaning
Wishing and hoping, wondering.... I find myself dreaming
The years have taught me that life goes too fast
Once I believed that my youth and plans would always last!

Now I find myself at that place, watching those around me
losing their employment...no golden years, nothing is free...
Daydreaming in moments I fall back to my youth
Planning my future, I know what I want to be...it's my truth!

Oh God...Please make me an Angel when I come to be with you
Let me fly with gleaming white wings; let me help alot or few...
Too many things I didn't do....too many places I didn't see
I want to fly all over, laughing with your joy... I want to be me

Never got to go to New England, dreamed about Australia
Thought about Ireland, and hoped to see Spain, Germany too...
Pretended I'd been to Africa, touched the Hippo's and Rhino's
Huge, tall Giraffe's....Rode in a Humvee to see them up close

Oh God...Please make me an Angel when I come to be with you
Send me to places that I never got to see.. References you ask?
My heart is full, and I missed too many opportunities...
Since I know the lifeline is running toward the end... earthly end..

Please let me finish what I should have done here...

I'll soar like an Eagle, overachieve...Bring those to know
The blessing, the goodness...the love that you promise

I may not be worthy, but I know you love me... Give me another
chance to fly with your wings... I bow down before you,
Forgive me my failures, my failures, my failures...my sins...
I'll be the best Angel you wait and see... I won't fail..I promise thee

Whee, Whee.. I'm sending this prayer...this application indeed...
Application enclosed, just a short time ahead I believe
It's never too late to ask .... You said... Ask, and ye shall receive
