While watching one of my favorite daily shows, Gunsmoke, I find spiritual applications many times from story lines used back in the “ good ole days.”

     Matt Dillon was the epitome of a good, clean, kind and authoritative man…a real cowboy, a United States Marshall.  No matter where he went, he garnered respect. He was a real man’s man, and every woman who met him swooned over him. 

     A simpler lifestyle wasn’t really simple, because there were always obstacles to be confronted. 

It may be costly with lives being lost; some justifiable while others were victims of circumstances. 

Yet the moral of the story was always that truth and justice prevailed. 

     In comparison to our world today, there seems to be differences, yet the same. Bad men still take advantage of good ones, evil is still evil, just on a larger scale because there’s more people. Of course, there’s more perversion and REPROBATION because we are living closer to the last days.

     There’s an element that runs through the heart of every human being, though, I believe, at some point and time that desires to live in a perfect world.

     We strive to find new ways of innovation, more modern progress to supersede “the good ole days”; only to realize that we complicate life in the process. 

     Each new era strives to outdo the previous ones. Good intentions go awry and usually are costly before the end result is afforded.  Yet, man continues to do his utmost to find the ability to produce a utopia and live in a perfect world. 

     God intended for his creation to live in a perfect world. He brought his design into play and put the first man and woman in the most beautiful place on this earth—the garden of Eden. He knew, though, that they would fail the test and succumb to the sin of disobedience through the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.                      

     Therefore, He began “His”story to show mankind that no more would they live in a perfect world until eternity, where God would reign completely supreme without the evil predators who led his perfect creatures astray. 

     The Bible is explicit about the coming perfect world.

One day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years are as one day. So 'when' God has designed for His final perfect world for His creation through the years is yet to be fulfilled...But for the child of God who lives for Christ in this life and believes His Word looks for that time to come.

     People say Jesus is coming soon, and indeed He is. He comes for countless numbers every day by way of the grave. But according to the inspirational writings of John the Revelator that perfect day will come, when this earth as we know it will be destroyed by fire, and the new heaven and the new earth will take its place. In the finals chapters of the final book of the Bible, Revelation chs. 20-22, John reveals the consummation of God's plan for all His children who've lived for Christ before they tasted of the first death, and for all those who do not choose to accept His wonderful gift of salvation while they walk through their earthly life. "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord, shall inherit the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven."

     Looking for a perfect world? Look to eternity. There will be no perfect world this side of eternity. 

"Lay up your treasures in heaven..." That's the perfect world.
