Bel, the Bear, discovers the cause of the hurricanes

The truth of the Storm Clouds

A black bear, named Bel, was lying along a little thermal spring between huge rocks on a tiny tropic island. It was hot, very hot. She longed for rain.
Bel loved heavy rainstorms and did not consider them to be bad medicine. Dark clouds were like treasure chets containing the Spirit of new Life. While watching the white clouds go by, she had learned that everything in Life changes and takes new form.

But she hungered to know the Secret of Hurricane storms, which could make ‘wise animal people’ even run in horror. How could something that was a blessing, also be something destructive? How could she find the secret of these storms?

After long meditation with the tuffy clouds above her, she thought: maybe when she would experience a storm right on this spot, she would know the Truth. She prayed with the spring and asked Mother Earth to bring her storm clouds.

Suddenly she saw right before her, coming from the ocean, big dark grey clouds moving in.
They changed to black clouds, while pouring heavy rain on the coast near Bel´s thermal spring. Bel jumped up ready to run into the biggest tree for cover, but realized with her first step, that this was the chance she had asked for. She turned back to the spring and sat down, waiting for the rain to wet her. While waiting she wondered how she could discover the Truth within the coming storm.

First Bel thought, she had to be Clear like a Spring. She had to get her Self spiritually informed by the Spring. This way she would be able to decide the right course of action she had to take. She listened to the flowing water of the spring and heard: mvmnt.. mvmnt.. mvmnt.. movmnt.. movemnt. movement! That was it: she needed to move with the water, with the rain, with the rain in the clouds. This way she could gather information.

She decided to travel in her mind the ´Way of the sunny Bear Clouds´, trying to know the Lands they touched and the Healing they brought. This was certainly difficult, while being within a heavy storm. But Bel knew, that ´up there´ with the clouds, she could find out how storms came to be so voilent.

Her long journey within her Dreaming with the clouds brought her high above the Earth. Bel saw how the sun loved the ocean and heated up it up to ebullient water. Their laugh created heated moisture in the air. The wind joined their dance and blew air near the ocean surface spiraling inward. Hotter and hotter the air became and rising higher. Bel saw the beginning of a hurricane. One growing big Ocean Eye! But Bel had no time to open her eyes, when the hurricane embraced Bel´s body. Bel had become a Sky Bear.
