Truckstop Love Letter is a love story of sorts about someone who worries about love and life. And about how well those two things will coexist. It is a letter sent straight to the heart despite the high price of postage.
Hey You,
It's 5:32 and I'm bored already. I have one complete so far. I wonder how many numbers we have for tonight? I only have one color pen for tonight (both are black) but they are light and dark. Only two more days until payday. I hope we get our taxes back soon. That meeting today was a waste of time. It was even worse than the other ones I've been through. *(wife/girlfriend)* I've got another complete. *ALMOST complete* Another one. I have 3 now. I think P.R. is about 2 an hour. So I need 12 by the end of the night! 3 down 9 to go. I think we have numbers but they're not very good ones. I only have two cigg. left. My ring is not on my finger. I think it's in the bedroom, or maybe the bathroom. I'm going to the car for my break. My soda's in the car. It's a can & I can't bring it in here. I have one of those free Pepsi lids. I stopped at 3 places & no one would accept it. The gas station in Mt. Morris said I had to buy one now to get the free one. The blue gas station said they don't accept them anymore. The gas station by Ames said the same thing as the first place I shopped. That's stupid I think. Another complete. Break time.
I'm back. I went to the car & got my pen. I like it better than the black ones. Four hours left to go. I think that working at the Truck Stop will be a lot more fun and interesting and nowhere near as boring as this is. I'm starting to mess with my fingernails. I need something else to do! I wonder when they are going to start me training at the truck stop? Are you going to be awake when I get home tonight? If not I won't wake you up. I'll try not to anyway. I seem to be getting all disconnects with a few no answer & machines thrown in for good measure! Business # Bored Bored Bored Bored Bored Another complete. 5 down 7 to go/6 down, 6 to go. I'm halfway there. I wish I was done with this today. I wish it was Friday and that we had our taxes back already. This hour seems to be going really slowly. What bills do we have to pay this payday? Probably should pay something on the gas bill, the insurance & the trash. Maybe pay or save some for rent? I think that's it. Buy food. Am I forgetting anything? We already paid electric & water this month, right? It's bugging me that I don't have my ring on so I can play with it. The last time I saw it I think I left it laying on your pillow last night. It is now 5 till 8. One more hour till I get another break. I only need 4 to make 33% P.R. My P.R. average for the first two weeks of May is 60%. It was 75% in the 1st 2 weeks of April & it was 28% at the end of April. It was that low because of that dayshift staples survey. I'm going to take a long shower & maybe shave tonight. What are your plans for tonight & tomorrow? (you'll probably sleep tonight) Do you want to get those bricks tomorrow? Never mind. You work tomorrow. Is it time to go home yet? I know I complain a lot don't I? I sorry. I love you. I'm probably going to end up writing 2 or 3 sheets worth of Bull for you to read. I'm glad I wasn't trained on fuels yet. I hope I don't get trained on it at all. There is a lady behind me doing it and it sounds worse than the soda survey. I've got 6 completes and they are all females. We need a phone.........
.........especially with us both working so much. At least until we get a second car. Another complete. 7 down 5 to go. It's now 8:22. I'm going to go on break after my next complete or at 9:00 whichever comes first. That is if I quit getting disconnect #'s. Disconnect message by chipmunk lady/British lady. That last complete was male. From down south. Or so he said. The cushion is coming off of the plastic frame of the chair. I haven't gotten reviewed in a few days. It's about time for my 45 day review. It's actually past time for it! Oh well. They'll do it, when they get to it! What kind of car do you want? Do you have any in mind? Still getting lots of disconnected and no answer #'s. Well it's just about dark outside. Isn't it supposed to get warmer in the next few days? I'm out of things to write about. Hell, I'm out of things to think about for that matter. Did you go visit Bell today? I'm tempted to go on my break now. I should wait though. That way the last two hours won't seem to be too long! It's 15 till nine now. I'm still getting mostly disconnects. Now I'm getting modems. Will explain later. Another complete.
8 down 4 to go.
Back from break in car. No more cigg. 9 down 3 to go. It's 10:25. Later.
Love ya.
P.S. This last 30 min is taking forever! One more comp. 10 down 2 to go. 10:42pm.

This would be much easier, much more effective if I could just make an opening in my head and spill my thoughts here... they are jumbled, tons of them, all fighting to be said first... Sigh.
This is beyond amazing, my dear friend. I read it 3 times, just to marvel at your ability to roll along, ever mindful of the numbers count, incidentally/strategically placed, seemingly stream of consciousness, done to perfection, yet the cohesion is in your capturing how the mind tumbles itself out... conversational, since it's a letter, and BANG-ON reality!
It's all there. It's compact and it's huge! It's a writer's pen delivering familiar, human responses when we say whatever enters our heads... talk about details, this person has legs, arms, and could easily get up off this page and walk AND talk. It's filled with 'statistics' that belong there, right where you put them. At once it's like peering over a shoulder, but then, it's even more like thinking, the recognition is so sharply vivid.
I'm frustrated that I can't give you all my thoughts here... please know that this is a good thing, since, if I were able to say it all right now, we'd be up until New Years Eve! (smile) You are one helluva writer, dear heart. I stand in awe. love, katydid xox.
Having actually sat down in the real world with you, I see your voice in this. Nice stream of consciousness work, very impressive. I can hear the thoughts parsing themselves, as they do in real life, in the short hand of our own thought processes. Well done!
