They are everywhere. All ages, both girls and boys. I see them at school, in Wal Mart, most everywhere I go. Why must the destruction go on?

As they come into the school, they are dressed in tattered clothes, no socks, dirty faces. I talk to a little 5yr old girl and ask her if she would like for me to wash her coat? "Yes, it's filthy," she says. "Wait," I call out to her as she walks out of the room, "let me wash your face before you go to class." She patiently allows me to wash the dirty smudges off of her face. I take her coat and place it in the washing machine at school and rinse it twice. I go back and place it in the dryer.

When it is dry, I take it back to her. She seems to be pleased, but I'm sure she knows this won't take long to look like it did before.

A little 6yr. boy comes in with a sore on his foot. I clean it and place a band aide. He wears no socks. "Don't you have any socks?" I asked. He says,"No my sister took mine." I look into the clothes closet and find a few pairs to give to him. He puts one pair on and puts the others in his pocket..

Many times I have called DHS to investigate the homes of these neglected children. I get the same response a few months later, "Unsubstantiated."

I read in the newspaper about a young 3yr.old girl who was being followed by DHS for possible abuse. I suppose they told the reporting person or persons that her case was"unsubstantiated." She is dead now. The cause according to the autopsy, "a kick in the stomach." The boyfriend goes to jail, but the child is no more.

A nine year old little girl is caught stealing bread from the kitchen at school. She is told that she may have more food if she is still hungry.This is reported to DHS as well.

We take out food, clothes, try to help. At times, we are told, "we don't take charity." The world is a cold one for these children. I pray for the children. Please pray for the children. This is our future. Do you see what is happening?
