Yes, Its a line stupid! So let's just buck-up, cow-boy up and shut-up! ok?

The Art of Standing In Line

May I begin by stating this day for the record, that there few things in life I have mastered to date in my fifty-two year voyage, that stand tall in monumental importance.
This one thing however in life I have mastered in poetic perfection, yes, the art of standing in line!

I purposed myself years ago, while flailing away in torment like a fish out of water, in a line of other numerous victims, to learn how to master the art of trudging through such a n unavoidable and innocent event with a modicum of dignity in tact.
First step I said to myself, must be to observe the folk I did not choose nor desire to emulate in this arena, this was fun for me, given my natural propensity cured over the years in astute people-watching and ponderance.
I knew instantly I wanted to learn to be cool, and stand in casual stoic patience, thus presenting myself in mastered temperance in the eyes of others, yes, cool says it all I should think.

Well, as I stood and polled the line-standers, I was immediately taken with their instant fury and annoyance sparked at the first glimmer of a line! Yes, they begin to tap their foot, soft like at first, then in increasing physical demeanor, vibrato and conduct, they begin to huff, sigh and groan a bit, planting their hands on hips stiffly, then they immediately begin to turn their eyes a bit, hoping to catch a glance of someone else just as annoyed.

They yes, then always turn around in the hopes of finding a kindred spirit in likeness and acute impatience standing behind them. If they find one such as me, standing and breathing in cool, calm, and collected, they immediately turn around hastily disapproving of such excellence in character walking, this is fine for me, for this is a plus from where I sit, or rather stand. For nothing annoys me more than being bothered by such a fidgety type when I am attempting to stand in a long line.

The party will then turn their anxious energy, attention and disdain for their unavoidable situation to the poor mope in front of them, and if not entreated shall continue search for an ear and sounding board.
Yes folks, the one time I shine the brightest , is in line! I glimmer indeed! It actually fascinates me somewhat, this noble attribute of isolated excellence I bear, for I am not naturally given to such grace in demeanor in such circumstances, but I swore when young, to master this one thing, yes, to stand in line in dignity!

I pass the time and amuse myself with the comedic antics of others less practiced in the art, as they turn and sigh and huff and puff, I muse at the poor unfortunates who lose it all together, finally spitting out loud their protest of such injustice prevailing, while frightening little children and small dogs.

Yes, to this day when I find myself in one of these train like lines, and hear that familiar sigh and groan behind me, I know it's on! Yes, the parroted hushed comments of, you'd think they would have more clerks wouldn't you? Oh yes, now there is a novel thought indeed, surely one worthy of tether-ball repetition to be sure.

No folks, I fear their shall always be lines, so let us just buck-up, cowboy-up and shut-up ok? And just stand in line like well behaved lads and lasses shall we?

Funny thing about lines, a radar-type thing. No matter which one I pick, and I always go for the most promising, you can be sure it will somehow turn into the longest and slowest experience. More time to practice the fine art of "hurry up and wait"... I've learned to carry reading material with me at all times.

wouldn't it be much easier to jsut speak the truth, I once was told, if you tell a lie, you would never rest, you have to keep trying to remember what you said, you use up all of your energy, trying it remember, when the truth is spoken, then there is nothing to remember, it is always with you,,,May there be peace soon, as we bow our heads in the ones already lost, not knowing the end of what they dies for. Salute to our Troops, may they be with their families and loved ones soon~n~again.
