The pen of the reformer who's mighty pen once wielded it's power in unbridle impact upon society, has now become still!

Rodney's Painted Pen Commentary

Reform

A word not likely to cause us to sing "Zippity Do Da" upon the hearing of it ushered in I fear, For the pen of the reformer is stilled in time this day, due to the audience no longer in the pew.

The pen of the reformer who's mighty pen once wielded it's power in unbridle impact upon society, has now become still! Well, afterall, we seem to have no critical need for reform, when we each one and all alike throughout the globe, are doing so swimmingly well, right?

I mean afterall, its not like there are any urgent and pressing problems today in time, that would really warrant the fire imbued and passionate pen of the reformist right?
I mean simply ask anyone, hey, do you feel personally that you stand in need of reform? Well hell, they shall answer quickly and in bullet blazed speed with a resounding no! As if your a shaved headed person at the airport passing out trinkets for dollars.

Now personally I happen to see a few minor changes and adjustments that could be visited among civilized man this day, yet I remain only one, sitting merely with pen in hand.
Yet why indeed should I scribe them, these minor foibles I detect and observe, for if words are not heard nor read, I reckon there remains no need indeed! Yet being a reformist, yes deep down inside where it counts, I cannot for the life of me, see how others see no need?

Perhaps I remain over reactive to such things and minor infractions I do note this day among mankind, perhaps the things that concern me, concern no others at all!
I mean yes, war we have always worn upon the history painting our tale, as well as vile acts of barbary and perverse abounding, so why rock the boat now?

Our government and politicians alike, have changed little in time, Yes, honesty is the best policy is still our heart banner worn to be sure!
The overcrowded prisons, after reconsideration I now see, really has no profound implications if we merely build more to accommodate these.
I guess I overreact to the polluted air stealing my life, I mean afterall, they do have all these new fangled air purging systems and the likes now.

The murder rate and violent crime, well I suppose its no big deal, if we just stay inside!
The homeless some say, really like it out there in the midst of wintertime, so who am I to steal their joy, by suggesting orthodox shelter and haven of canopy to offer succor?

Perhaps my silly thoughts of reform being needed, are merely the result of my overreactive and paranoid nature. The oil, our energy source, is almost all gone, perhaps its a good thing, for it seemed to have a rather noxious and toxic backlash to its glory and power.

Yes, after some serious consideration, I can see I have just been blowing a cornet with a mute in it! And for no reason I guess! Yes, things actually look pretty good when you just get things arranged in the proper prospective

There is however an awful lot of folk dying worldwide daily from starvation, disease and the likes, and often the proper medicine if afforded could save those same lives, yet hell, the realist states that this is precisely how we control the population explosion! And after further perusal of thought, surely all of sound mind would concur instantly!

There does remain the wildlife however, that now attempts to survive in the concrete cities we have built for them, they don't seem to be flourishing to well, but hell ask the carnivore, and he'll say what the hell! I guess if you can dismiss their right to existence, then this really requires no attention either.

Double standards for the rich verses the poor, insofar as the legal system goes, Well, hell, O. J.and Barreta are pretty pleased with the show! I once as well was alarmed at how in the Viet Nam era, only the poor and college bound not, were forced into the draft to die, but after further consideration, I can see as most others I guess, that this is precisely how you enact and maintain a high quality of intelligence among mankind, afterall, we don't want to breed a bunch of simple bumpkins and folk, now do we? "A Modest Proposal" by Swift, now leaps to mind, and a man named Hitler that had some ideas too in mind, not to be painted in like nor kind, might I add.

I must say however, that folk seem not as friendly and caring as they used to be, yet, I am sure I'm just making a big deal out of it, being the sensitive lad I remain. The divorce rate seems a tad high, perhaps reflecting our lack of ability to commit or carry out, and revere vows, but what the hell, vows and promises, like rules, were merely created to be broken right? And afterall, the whole institution of marriage is, probably just a pretty silly concept anyway.

The whole world seems to hate us however, as a country I do now mean, yet their probably just jealous of all the good they do see.

So I guess all remains in order this day, and all is well in time, with no apparent need for the ushering in of reform, so perhaps, I should merely lay down my pen, for the fire and roar is heard no more, nor is required as well, as my reconsideration and attempt to expound, has so clearly and plainly told.
Peace,
Rodney Evan Bohen

Amazing how simply you walk through this write, explaining the problems away...maybe the biggest problem is the people not stopping to think about it...Good reminder. Excellent write. ;-)
