Society has really destroyed the image of what qualities role models should have. Most young females believe that you have to be a size three to be beautiful and that is not true . True beauty comes from within and along with that you must learn to love yourself. As a result of that, they try to portray images of these "beauty queens" that take hours (or lots of money) preparing themselves to look this way. Our job as mothers, fathers, relatives and friends is to teach them self love and assurance, and instill values in them. Values that, assure them that they are beautiful no matter what the “Cosmopolitan” says beauty is. I plan to teach my children that, God doesn’t make mistakes. I want my children to love them selves and not feel insecure about their appearance. Males growing up today think that they have to have fancy cars and/or many women to maintain an image. Some young males have no respect for women, which is a lesson taught in the home. This normally has something to do with the absence of the father in the home. In that same token, having a father figure absent from the family does not confirm that a male won’t grow up decent. It is said that a family with both parents is most likely to raise children better (traditionally speaking). My true opinion is that as long as you instill values in your children no matter what parent is absent they will turn out just fine.
