Beware of the undercurrent & the Rip Tide
Definition of Undercurrent: Merriam-Webster Dictionary- A current below the upper currents or surface: a hidden opinion, feeling, or tendency often contrary to the one publicly shown.
I saw myself sitting at a window with an ocean view of the sea, it was as though I was looking through a magnifying glass and could see clearly the undercurrent and the rip tide yet on the surface it seemed so beautiful. I turned away from it and awakened to find it was a dream which seemed so real. The Word spoke to me from Proverbs 3:5-6. (5)”Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (6)”In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
All across the Globe and here in the Bahamas, life is becoming increasingly difficult and challenging. Marriages that have been solidly built are being torn apart. Mothers are against their daughters and sadly many fathers cannot be found to nurture and are not there for their sons neither their daughters. Tensions are increasing and tempers are flaring, the children are on the edge. Do you realize in the natural if you were to enter the water while there is an undercurrent you could run the risk of being swept away with the rip tide. You will not be able to swim against the current. The Word is speaking this time from the book of Acts 26:12-15 where the Apostle Paul stood before King Agrippa to declare his life and the vision he had seen. Let’s pick up the story (12)”Where upon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,”(13)”At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.” (14)”And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutes thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” Is it possible that right where you are, you have not adhered to the warning of the undercurrent and the rip tide sent from the dark world to destroy your family life, your job, friendships and even in your ministering in the Church? Are you feeling completely overwhelmed by the sequence of the troubling and stressful situations which are rapidly unfolding before your very eyes? Take a moment to sit quietly before the LORD, listen, you will hear Him speak to you. Yahweh will surround you with His presence and give to you His peace and strength to restrain you from being taken in by the undercurrent and swept away by the rip tide. Let’s continue now with the Apostle Paul’s story as he stood before King Agrippa, (15)”And I said, who art thou, LORD? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.” What an experience this must have been for Saul at such a time in his life. (16)”But rise, and stand upon your feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou has seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;” Take another moment to reflect on the many times you have allowed yourself to be taken in by the undercurrent and the rip tide in your home and in your relationship with your spouse, the adult children, not to mention the Boss at work. You are not alone and the good news is, Abba Father did not allow you to be destroyed by the undercurrent. You are still standing and just as Saul before his conversion was ordered to stand on his feet, this day be it known to you Yahweh will continue to keep you standing in spite of the threatening undercurrent and the rip tide which will continue to infiltrate into your life. God is going to deliver you from the opinions of people and instill in you such a strong and clear focus, you will not forget nor be deterred from the great call He has placed on your life. Yahweh has delivered you from the power of Satan and infused and anointed you with the oil of His Anointing. Let’s go to (17)”Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,” (18)”To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” God did it for Saul, whose name was changed to Paul and through the Power of God he became the greatest Apostle of Jesus Christ because Saul became aware of the undercurrent and the rip tide.
While I saw myself sitting at a window with an ocean view of the sea, it was as though I was looking through a magnifying glass and could see clearly the undercurrent and the rip tide yet on the surface it seemed so beautiful. I turned away from it and awakened to find it was a dream which seemed so real. As I now reflect just maybe I have been drawn into the undercurrent and Abba Father has been keeping me from being swept away. The good thing is in the dream the undercurrent was revealed to me and I turned away from it. What about you? Are you willing to not only take heed but also turn away from the undercurrent and the rip tides in your life? Pause and calmly think about this. Much Love!
