Leslie Bond sits in the cockpit of an airplane, obviously a comfortable place for him. The pilot-novelist earned his wings flying airplanes at Monahans during the 1980's.

Jan.10th,2002          A Lovington,NM man who earned his commercial pilot rating through flight time at the Monahans Municiple Airport is now the author of a new fiction book entitled "Bermuda Voyagers: The Fangs of Fire," which was released through 1stbooks.com.
          Leslie W. Bond, who attended Kermit High school in 1977 and 1979 and Wink High school in 1978, said, "During the early 1980's I use to rent airplanes from the Airport FBO(Fixed Base Operator) Al Pakcyke. I built a lot of my flight time there to earn my commercial pilot rating."
          Bond noted that a friend of his, Jimi Genzling, who attended Monahans High school during the 1970's, is a character in his book.
          Bond said, "His mother, Mary Ann Genzling, still lives in Monahans and his siter."
          "Bermuda Voyagers: The Fangs of fire", tells the story of a search and resue mission headed for the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. When offered the chance to join that mission, Col. Bond and Holt couldn't refuse.

          In "Bermuda Voyagers: The Fangs of Fire,"Bond's knowledge of flight and his subject is apparent. Offering real-life atmosphere and adventure as only a professional pilot could, Bond brings his drama of the air to an unforgettable conclusion. Bond worked for a few years as a single engine land charter pilot, and is a three time flight instructor. His knowledge of his subject is extensive and makes for enjoyable reading.
          Bond lives in New Mexico with his wife Abigail. They are the parents of eight children (together), and the grand parents of four(between them both).
