I was born in 1945, so I lived throughout the entire Cold War...and for the young people out there who may not remember much of it, it was a dangerous saga of two super-powers, pointing nuclear weapons at each other...the (then) Soviet Union and the United States!

I was in high school, when the Cuban Missile Crises occurred, as Soviet ships steamed toward Cuba carrying nuclear weapons, and President Kennedy stopped it all with the Cuban block-aid, in which the Russians had intentions of placing nuclear weapons on the island of Cuba! At a young age, I thought this was going to be the end of the world, and of mankind as we knew it, as two super-powers were about to square off!
But, it didn't happen, as the Soviet ships turned around, and went back to Russia, as the United States prevailed. A sigh of relief around the world! And, the United States prevailed because of a strong military, and the American determination to have its military keep the peace around the world!
In the lobby of the Veteran's Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico (where I live), there is a sign which reads;
"Freedom is not free."
That's right...freedom is NOT free, and millions of Americans have paid with their lives for freedom around the world! When freedom is threatened...the United States must act!
Throughout the decades, America has kept the peace around the world. In World War I and II, as the United States had to get into the war it didn't want to get into. And, because of the military might of the United States, it won over the Japanese and the Germans, as hundreds of thousands of lives were lost during these two wars...for freedom!
In Central America, the United States, went down and picked up the Saber-rattling Noriega, and placed him in jail in Miami. There's been peace in that part of the world ever since! With the help of the NATO forces in Europe, and against Milosevic in Bosnia, where the people in that region revolted against him and put him in jail. There's been peace in that region as well.

The disciples of the devil will always be with us...Hitler; Noriega; Saddam; Milosevic; Khadafy in Libya. President Reagan sent jet fighters after Khadafy and just missed taking him out. But, because of this, there has been peace in that part of the world as well.
When freedom is threatened around the world, the United States MUST act! As of the past decade or so, the United States, has been punched around by these cowards, who call themselves terrorists and who hide behind women and children! With the tragic events of 9/11, the United State has acted, and has invaded the Middle East, where the terrorists activities originate...and those activitles threaten the American way of life!
I joined the Air Force in 1965, at the height of the Viet Nam war. I did so because of the draft at that time. I didn't want to be drafted into the military. And, everyone knows that the Viet Nam war was political in nature and a mistake! The so-called "domino theroy," in which one country falls, and the others follow and fall to Communism as well. (Bonehead thinking in the Congress!) I don't think the peasants of Viet Nam cared who they get their bowl of rice from...the American's OR the Russians!
The horrors of 9/11! I don't think many people around the country will forget 9/ll anytime soon, as America was attacked for the first time! In Iraq, we cannot have another Viet Nam! Young people are being injured and killed everyday! All American's MUST set the politics of the war aside, and support our troops! Unlike Viet Nam, our troops MUST be welcomed home in an honorable way!
They're just doing their jobs...fighting for innocent people around the world who can't fight for themselves, and for the Red, White and Blue! They're fighting for us all! American's cannot ever be threatened by these cowards living in the Middle East or anyplace else!
The Iraq war, is a message to other nations of the world...threaten the American way of life, and we'll come after you! The will and strength of the American people will never be defeated by anyone...NEVER!
