Children; young people; middle-aged people and Seniors all have their own interesting stories and experiences to tell.
Children/young people;
I don't drive anymore, and I'm sure the general public is grateful for that! I walk and take the bus on the few stops I have each month.
One day, I rode the bus, and I was sitting near, and in back of the rear door of the bus. A woman about 35 years old, boarded the bus, and she was carrying a baby. A few miles down the road, she pulled the buzzer rope, to get off the bus. She and her baby struggled to get to the back door to get off the bus. While she was waiting for the bus to stop, the baby, who could not be over a year old, was making gestures with the tiny fist...and then would giggle; giggle...and make more gestures with the tiny closed fist, etc.
I couldn't understand the sign language coming from the baby...if there were any, and suddenly the mother turned to me and said, "He wants a fist-bump!"
"A fist-bump for a one year old", I asked the mother! She nodded approvingly! I've never given a fist-bump to anyone, much less to a one year old. The baby kept giggling, and thrusting a tiny closed fist my way. Well...why not...I thought to myself. So, I closed my right fist and gave the baby a tiny fist-bump!
The baby started laughing and giggling...and the mother had a smile on her face so wide, that I think she got lipstick on her ears! She was noticeably pleased, too! The bus stopped...and the woman and her baby got off the bus, and they went on their way!
Middle-aged people;
It is not unusual to see many people make this type of mistake at a large shopping center or after a ballgame and not know where they've parked.
It happened to me one day, as I saw the incident unfold from close-up as I left a copy shop. I noticed a man, who was trying to unlock the door to his car...or so he thought it was his car. Another man, who was walking up and down the sidewalk in front of the stores, and talking to someone on his cell phone...noticed the other man trying to get into his car!
The man on the cell phone quickly yelled to the other man, "Why are you trying to get in my car?"
The first man, who was trying different keys, couldn't understand why he couldn't unlock the door into the car, and didn't pay any attention to the other man on the cell phone. The man on the cell phone, put the cell phone away, and pointed to another car, that was parked in the first row...directly bahind his own car. "THAT car parked over there must be your car," he yelled, as he pointed to the car!
The man, with the keys, who was trying to get into the car...looked to the side and across the way...and OOPS! He was trying to get into the wrong car! He imediately apologized to the man on the cell, and quickly went a few yards behind and unlocked his own car and drove away! He embarrassingly, now realized that he had parked in the first row of cars and not up against the sidewalk!
Trying to unlock somebody else's car, eh? Just for the record...his red face glowed all over the neighborhood! (blush-blush!)
As I stood there, I compared the two cars...and both cars were identical. I couldn't tell them apart! Both were silver in color; both had four doors, etc. The man had good reason to make the mistake...sort of! (blush-blush!)
But, an incident like this, can get a person in trouble very quickly. There are those, who don't like people touching their vehicle for any reason! I think one reasons why this incident didn't get out of control, was because one of the men was on the cell phone, that took his attention...otherwise, the outcome might be different.
Seniors;
When I'm down in the dumps and need a little therapy about my age, all I have to do, is to go to the VA Medical Center, and I can see all the old-timers I want...some over 80 years of age...85...and over 90 years of age. In my early 60's, I feel likd a teeny-bopper in this group! A real bubble-gummer...and I have all of my teeth, too!
One day, I was standing in line for a doctor's appointment. Up ahead of me in the line, were too old veterans...who were arguing about everything under the sun, etc. Both were hearing-impaired, so they were both screaming at each other, so they could hear! The finger-pointing started as they argued back and forth! During the course of their argument, their ages came out, and one of the veterans was 83 years old and the other was 89 years of age! WOW! These were a couple of old dudes!
Anyway...the arguing and screaming at each other kept going on between these two...and finally the 89 year old screamed to the 83 year old..."that's why I don't like to talk to you young-uns...you have no experience at nothin...and you're all 'wet behind-the-ears!'
Everyone has a story to tell...and writing it could be the best way to tell it! (yawn, here- - - -z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z---yawn, again!)
