Death and oranized religion seem to go together...just like love and marrige!  What is marriage?  With all the killing going on around the world, by religious people...what is love?

This article is different, in that, I've listed the things that I will NOT do while I am here on the planet Earth.  To do these things...or better yet to NOT do these things, will require tolerance; will power; discipline; restraint, etc. 

Brick and mortar chuches (out of my life);  I grew up as a Catholic, and one of my younger brothers got molested and sexually abused by a priest.  His life has never been the same, as he quickly became an alcoholic...and living on the streets for the last twenty years.  His life was completely ruined!  That's when I decided to leave the church and organized religion of any kind...I would not ever attend of become a member of any brick and mortar church! 

And, don't forget about the perverts and pedophiles in these brick and mortar churches...my brother found out the hard way...

When I moved into my new neighborhood a couple of years ago, I was walking around the neighborhood to get acquainted with the area.  I saw these three brick and mortar churches...right next to each other...side by side.  The first thing I thought of was the game show of the 1970's called 'Let's Make a Deal,' where the constestant would pick a door and win the prize behind it.  The prize could be nice like a new car or house...or the prize could be nothing at all. 

So, which door should I choose...church #1; chruch #2 or church #3...after all, they all have the answers to salvation, don't they?  One thing is certain...if you don't put anything in the collection basket...you'll be branded a sinner, and you could get your head cut off...or WORSE! 

What is the answer for all the hate; killing and fighting all over the world?  The answer is simple...religious beliefs!  I remember all the hate and killing going on in Ireland between the Catholics and Protestants!  In Bosnia and that region...you could get your head cut off because of your religious beliefs, etc. 

Many people in these brick and mortar churches, lie and cheat their way to the top...and every Saturday you will find them in a confessional someplace...and attending a churce service on Sunday morning.  Correct me if I'm wrong...I think these type of people are called hypocrites.

hypocrite: (definition); a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually posses, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs;

Over the past twenty years, it has felt great, not to have a collection basket shoved in my face, etc. 

Church recruiting:  Since I am not a member of any organized religion or brick and mortar church, I don't have to recruit anyone for anything, etc.  Many years ago, my mother was in the hospital to have an operation.  As she lie in the recovery room, and coming back to her senses...there was a preacher standing there giving her a brochure to my sister's church!  My mother was furious with my sister!  How could she send her preacher to do something like this?  Selfishness, perhaps!  At that time, my sister was the only one on the planet that was white and pure as an angel...everyone else was and is a sinner! 

My brother-in-law was called 'the preacher' at work, and after years of handing out brochures and preaching his gospel to all the sinners...he was fired from his job!

No fences to mend:   As of 2010, I have no fences to mend with anyone, and I want to keep it that way.  To do this, I have to keep as many people out of my life.  The more friends you have...the more problems you have.  I would rather be alone the rest of my life, than to be one minute with a selfish person!  Why do you think the divorce rate is still so high?  I'll give you a hint...the word starts with an 's'...

Peer-pressure; Peer-pressure is not just for teenagers.  The ugly face of peer-pressure will follow us all to the grave, by those who want us to go in a different direction with our lives!  It will take discipline and restraint to stay away from these people

Temptation;  Like peer-pressure, temptation will follow us all to the grave, whether we like it or not.  Temptation of one kind or another, and a person needs the strength and will power to fight it off. 

 No hate for anyone; My mother was a racist and hated white people!  There's no technical answer here...she took her hate to the grave with her.  I'm so glad I didn't turn out like her!  There are people in every race I don't like, but I'm not going to invite them home to sleep with me!  I just stay away from these people. 

The United States of America was built on hate; racism; bigotry and oppression!  If you don't believe me, just ask any woman; Native American or African American!  (the good ole white boys in the Congress wouldn't know anything about this)  Why would anyone want to live in this hateful, selfish, and greedy world for 100 years or more?  If a person believes in life after death...there has to be a better place to live after death...don't you think?   

I hope I have the courage to do what Art Buchwald did when he passed away at the age of 82.  He was a humor writer for many years.  He was on a kidney machine, and he ordered his doctor to unplug the machine and let nature take its course.  He died soon thereafter!  If we could all have such courage, right?

I am on my way to accomplishing my goals in my journey towards death...the main issue is for me to stay away from organized religion (brick and mortar churches), that's where a lot of the evil is lurcking...like perverts; pedophiles, etc. 

Leaving the VA and organized religion:  At the age of 65 in 2010, two of my best decisions in my lifetime, was to leave the VA Medical Center, as I am a veteran.  That's because I became eligible for Medicare, after a two years waiting period on Social Security on a disability.  And, where did that disabability happen?  At the VA, of course.  Nobody is ever accountable at the VA for anything!  The second most important decision in my life, was to leave organized religion.  I have not attended a brick and mortar church in over 20 years, and I don't intend to for the rest of my life, etc.  I feel much better about myself about these two decisions!

I am not an atheist...I am still a Christian and I still believe in God and life after, and I worship in my own way.  It's refreshing not to have a collection basket shoved in my face every week.  I have done well so far, and now I just have to keep certain people away from me, (those with skeletons in their closet and larceny in their veins, etc. )...and I'll be fine.  I like my life style now...as I head for the finish line.  I remain a Christian...and these views will remain so until my death.  Everything is going as planned.   (I don't need all those hypocrites in my life!) 

Here in America, we live in a country of choices.  Everyone has a choice as to what is best for them and their family.  I made the choice 20 years ago, to leave the brick and mortar establishment of churches behind me...it has been a good decision for me. 

In this matter, I have not thrown the 'baby out with the bathwater' and condemed every church as a bunch of bad apples in the basket.  Everyone has a choice at to how they want to lead their lives...they can go to any church they please...or not go to church at all.  They can believe in a higher spirit if they wish...or not believe at all...the choice is theirs!

 I don't know much about religion and death...but one sure way for a person to go to their heaven...is to put a little something in the collection basket every week!  I don't deal with a collection basket anymore!
