Because the Internet and websites are so new to everyone, I don't think there are any precedents in the past, that anyone can look to, for guidance as to how to will away a website, and the documentation connected with it.  I DON'T KNOW OR HAVE THE ANSWERS TO THE MANY QUESTIONS, THAT WILL COME UP IN THIS LEGAL AND TECHNICAL AREA OF THE INTERNET...who nobody owns!  That's why I'm writing this piece, to try to find out, and answer the many questions. 

I, first wrote this piece in December, 2011, and the piece just got stangnant, and gathered dust.  But, in May, 2012, I suffered a stroke, and now it was a different ballgame.

Because the Internet is so new, I can't go back to grampa, and ask him how he handeled his money-making website.  There was no Internet. 

I couldn't go back to my father, and ask him how he handeled the continuation of his website as he got old and frail.  There was no Internet...no websites.  My family never had a computer, and knew nothing about a website or the Internet...NOTHING! 

Nobody owns the Internet.  So, how does somebody with a non-income producing website, who wants to keep it running after their death proceed?  How does anyone who owns Internet toys, and wants to keep their toys operative and running into the future...how can it be done. 

There's usually a fee connected with the ownership of a website or writing site.  I pay $100.00 per year for my website.  I pay about the same for my writing site, at $100.00 per year.  (about $8.00 per month);  I pay this amount, because this has been my hobby over the last decade, and it gives me great enjoyment.  I do not play golf; I have to cable television to waste my time, and this is how I spend my recreation money.  Everyone has to have recreation in their life, and this is the way I do it. 

It is quite rewarding to write my articles (360+ articles) and get my articles and ideas out there around the world, and let the public be the judge.  It is so rewarding to see my articles on the Featured Page; the Top Ten page and the Top 100 Article Page, etc. 

Family:  There is NO family. My parents have passed many years ago.  I come from a family of ten kids, and we haven't seen each other for over 20 years.  I wouldn't recognize my nieces and nephews if they knocked on the door.  A dysfunctional family for sure.  So, as far as willing anything, including my website, is out of the question.

I know what that means, after I had a stroke in May, 2912, and I survived it, and spent about a month in the hospital.  That's the closest I have ever come to death...as, when the stroke hit me, I thought it was my last day on Earth.  It was a frightening, chilling experience, and I don't ever want to go through it again.

All of us will do with our bodies upon our death, what we think is appropriate...and I respect that.  But, after my death, I don't want to be thrown into a dusty hole behind the VA Medical Center, and not put my body to good use for others.

And now, this is my third article on death...and could be the most difficult, because the Internet; websites and writing sites are so new to all of us. 

I've been in the humor business for over 50 years, and when I built my website, I knew there would be plenty of humor.  But, I wanted more than that.  I wanted my website to be interesting, too.  To do that, I had to write articles, that would be interesting to my visitors...and be on important issues such as the environment; losing weight; quitting smoking; good healthcare; creativity/ideas and so forth.  I've had my website for seven years now, and I pay $100.00 per year, which I think is a bargain for me, since I don't have cable television; or have to pay for hobbies such as golf, etc.

Since the middle of 2008, the traffic to my writing site has more than quadrupled, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the visitor.  For it is the visitor who is the most important person in all this publishing process, etc.  Because of this increase in traffic, it is now more important to me than ever, that I try to find a way to keep the website and writing site up and running after my death.

I've always encouraged young people and begginers in writing, to start out at an article directory, and you could get your articles published right away, depending on how good you are, and if you follow the rules.  There are hundreds of articles, and I happened to choose one of the best...yet my articles appear on 17 other articles...somebody else put them there...which makes for great exposure for the writer, etc.

There is nothing I would like more, than keeping my sites up and running after my death...but how?  I can't will a site away, that has a fee or fees connected with it, right?  Why would anyone want to inherit something where they would have to pay fees every year to keep it up and running? 

I think both sites are beneficial to the visitor, and can be a learning tool for young people and old people alike.  The visitor to my site can learn about the following; page composition; captioning graphics; white space; color balance; title for articles; poems; articles; ideas; creativity; taking chances with ideas; humor; about a dozen humor-related articles; over 50 different categories for the articles; taking chances with articles, style, etc.

When I turned 40 years of age, I thought nothing of it.  When I turned 50 years of age...again...I thought nothing of it.  But, when I turned 60 years of age...that was a different story.  Many people die in their 60's, and I started to view life differently.  I knew I had to get my house in order, and to prepare for the enevitable.  In 2010, I am now 65 years of age, and I realize the sun is beginning to set on the horizon, etc.  All of this is explained in the two articles on death, which I spoke of earlier. 

This piece will be a 'work in progress' article/report and I will update it weekly, and let the reader know the things I have found out during my research on this subject for the continuance of this piece.  I will go to people in the legal profession; individuals; organizations; foundations, etc., in my journey.
