So, if your cup of tea is music; engineering; medical; writing; arts and crafts; science; entertainment; sports; technical; acting; business; when you accomplish something in your field...you should shout it from the roof tops!  You display all your trophies and awards for all to see, don't you! 

For those people around the world, who are not familiar with the term, 'tooting your horn,' I will describe it for you;

Tooting your own horn; (description);  to declare one's own majesty or greatness;

Since website building and writing have been my chosen fields of interest over the past several years, I will focus on those two fields;

I knew when I started writing, that I would write on many different subjects;  I would not paint myself into a corner by just writing about just one category or just a few. 

Paying Markets vs. Free Content Markets; Early on, I had to decide whether to go into the paying markets to sell my articles, or into the Free content markets and give my articles away.  I chose to go into the free content markets.  So, I posted my articles on an article directory;

Over the past few years, over 100 different of my articles have been published on more than 550 websites on the Internet and the reader can see the list here on myArticles Published Page;

Here's the Skinny On How I Lost 40 Pounds;
For over 3 years, this was my dominant article, having been #1 at three different places for over three years.  I never thought it would never lose the lead, but in May, 2010, the article listed below took the lead and is now leaving everybody in the dust.

This piece was written two years after the weight piece shown above, and yet this piece caught up and passed it in hits/views.  Amazing!

Monster;  This is also a #1 writing piece, as it has been published the most times, on 39 websites on the Internet.  Of over 250 articles in my portfolio, it is the only piece, that has been posted on the top 50 on Authors Den; #1 in the 'Parenting' Category; and listed on the 'featured page' in the 'parenting category...all in the same week!   

 Number of articles; 360+ articles in my portfolio as of June, 2012, my top ten looks like this.  This pleases me, because the ten articles, fall into 7 different categories, and that's what I wanted when I started writing...diversity and variety.

For the first few years I been at Authors Den, I have never really paid attention, as to how many of my articles have been featured...showing up on the top ten page in various categories; the featured page itself; or the top 50 page.  One day, in March 2011, I was scanning over the featured categories pages, and to my surprise, I saw my articles everywhere...Because of this, I decided to get a count, so I could see where I stood, because before this time, it was all guess work on my part, etc. My findings were such a surprise to me, as I found the following on the first week in April, 2011;

VIP Appreciation Gallery; This is my tiny way of giving thanks to everyone who has visited my website and my writing site at Authors Den.  In the business of publishing a website or a writing site...it is the visitor/reader who is the most important part of this publishing process.  Therefore, I am grateful for everyone who takes the time to visit my website and my writing site.  Everyone is very much appreciated. 

It doesn't matter what profession or occupation you're in...because to earn an award, or be successful at any endeavor...you must work hard.  And, if you've worked hard all these years, to get to where you are...you can certainly shout it from the roof-tops and 'toot your horn!'
