I guess the most frightening event in the world that happened to me growing up, was the Cuban Missle Crises, where the Russians (former Soviet Union) wanted to place nuclean missles on the island of Cuba.  The Soviet ships left their ports and sailed across the Atlantic ocean...and the world waited...waited to see what would happen.  The United States blockaded the island of Cuba, and was not going to let the Russians bring the missles to Cuba. 

At the age of 16 at the time, I thought this would be the beginning of World War III...only this time it would be would nuclear weapons!  If this happened, the whold world could be annihilated.  The world waited for about three weeks, and after the Soviet ships arrived in the Cuban area...they turned around and war was averted!  The world collectivly breathed a sigh of relief.

How many ways can you kill a human being...let me count the ways!  I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is about an hour south of Santa Fe, New Mexico, home of the state prison.  This is the closest I ever been to a mass violent event...the 1981 prison riot, in which 33 prisoners died and hundreds were injured.  The National Guard was called out!  Prisoners in the riot were torched to death; hung by the neck; beat to death; suffocated; burned alive; stabbed to death; shot...a big black eye for the state and the country...and for the human race!

People on one side of the Earth...come over to the other side of the Earth and randomly kill thousands of people in one act of violence!  I'm talking about 9/11 in which people from many different countries died that awful day!  This is the most evil act I've ever seen!  And, what's worse...these people who call themselves human beings...think they're going to their heaven...and become martyrs for doing an terrible act like this!  Wherever their heaven is...I don't want to go there!  Ever wonder why I'm ashamed to be called a human being?

People are taught to hate!  I can't imagine how a person or two, can garner so much hate in them, that they could do something like this.  And, I'm talking about the Oklahoma City bombing, where dozens of people were killed in one evil act...men, women and children!  It boggles my mind that there can be people like this who call themselves human beings.

Anyone who abuses or sexually abuses a child, should have a special place in HELL!  My wife has been a social worker for over 25 years.  During that time, she has seen every which way a child can be abused, and I've heard many of these disgraceful stories.  Many of these people should have never become parents.  One day, she told me about one of the most difficult things she has had to do as a social worker. 

She has had a woman as her secratary for over ten years.  One day, my wife had to go with the police to arrest the father of her secretary...for sexually abusing the secretary's children...or his grandchildren!  An amazing story!  My wife was broken apart by having to do this!  She didn't know what to say to her secretary!

One of my younger brothers, was sexually molested by a Catholic priest when he was 12 years old.  He was never the same.  He became an alcoholic at a young age, and has lived in the streets about 30 years of his life! 

I believe that the seeds of hate, are planted in religions and in brick and mortar chuches all over the country and the world.  I remember the fighting between Catholics and Protestants in Ireland for many years.  I have not been to a brick and mortar church in over 25 years, and my life is better for it.  As a Christian, I worship in my own way.

"There will be no parole for you...as you will spend the rest of your life in prison."  Those were the words of the judge, who sentenced a 73 years old woman, who beat an 83 year old woman to death, by beating her 37 times with the claw of a hammar!  What in the world could these two old women be fighting about?

Bigrotry is alive and well in this country, thank you very much.  During a ten year period, I was laid off from ten jobs, and it was the worst time in my life.  I was about 50 years of age when I lost the first job.  It never occured to me, that ageism or discrimiation against older workers would play a part in my life,  but it did.  I couldn't imagine why I was having so much trouble finding a job, until I saw a short article in the newspaper, which said that ageism is the number one complaint to the EEOC. 

"That's it," I thought to myself.  "Could boomers be discrimating against other boomers," was another article I read along the way.  It was hard enough to lose six jobs...but it was hard to deal with the fact that age discrimination was a problem.  As it all turned out...I lost everything; a suicide attempt, put me in the hospital for over three months; I was discharged to live in a homeless shelter; lost all my possessions; stood in a soup line for over six weeks, etc.  I don't point the finger to the companies who laid my off; I point the finger to the bigots in the work place who wouldn't hire me because of my age!

August, 2011; In London, England...the worst behavior that a human has to offer...looting; burning; fires; killing; beatings; property damage at its worst!  I haven't watched the local evening news in over ten years...nothing but corruption; murders; robberies; rapes; child abuse; domestic violence; and on and on and on...I don't call this being informed of anything worth watching!

Is it called basketball...or basketbrawl? 

Another embarrassing incident for the human race, happened in China recently, as an American basketball team has been touring China on a goodwill tour.  A bench-clearing brawl broke out in the game, where punches were thrown and chairs were thrown as well.  What kind of a good-will tour is this?  So much for civility....and another black eye (literally) for the human race...

The longer I stay on this planet...the more I want to go someplace else...away from humans!  There has to be a better place to go than the Earth.  

 You don't have look very far on this evil planet, to find someone with skeletons in their closet or  larceny in their veins!  Who can you trust anymore?  Your own parents?  Your doctor?  Your baby-sitter? Your financial advisor? Your preacher?  Who can you trust anymore?

Books and libraries can be written about evil human behavior in this society and around the world, so this article is just a small snapshot.  Having read this short piece...ever wonder why I'm almost ashamed to call myself a human being?
