I don't care what you do for a living, everyone and I mean everyone is creative in their own way.  There are people out there who are good in math; science; technology; the arts; music; sports and then there are those who are good at just creating a mess. 

Writer's Block;  I don't believe in it.  I prefer to call a block in the mind, 'Creative Block.'  Everyone gets blocked with their ideas, and your're no exception.  The idea you're working on, could be for efficiency at work; landscaping around your house; what do do with an extra bedroom, now that you threw the kid out of the house and millions of other ideas you will need over your lifetime. 

Poor memory:  If you're like me, you have a poor memory, but I have a good excuse.  At 68 years of age, I'm now an old man.  Just another excuse-maker, right?  Ideas connot be compyrighted, so ideas are out there for everyone to grab.  It depends how hard you want to work for them, etc.  Some people are go-getters, and some people are couch-potatoes, etc.  You know the old saying, "You get what you pay for," and you will pay in the time and effort or lack thereof, if everyone gets the great ideas, or you strike out...AGAIN! 

Website name; humordoctormd; For starters, let's start with a quick trip down the Front Page of my website, which I think is one of the best on the Internet, in the beginning category.  I put this website up in 2001, and it has not changed, and I still think it one of the best...but you can be the judge, etc.  This way, the reader can get a feel for what's coming.  Remember, this is a 'show n' tell,' and I'm going to show you how easy getting ideas can be...but, you're going to have to be ready to work for for your ideas, etc.  

Become a good listener;  If you would stop shooting your mouth off all the time, and become a good listener, you might get good, usable ideas once in a while!  In my view, you can't do it, if you remain a motor-mouth all the time. 

How do you think Bill Gates (Microsoft) became the richest man in the world?  A.  Because he's a good listener.  Bill Gates is not an educated man, but he brought in some of the brightest people, paid them well.  Ideas cannot be copyrighted, so Bill Gates listened to his employees 'sing' out all those ideas...and he went with them...and, the rest is history, etc. (you don't need to be a rocket scientist to do this)  You just have to shut up for a change, and I'm sure the people around you will be happy, too.

Stop and smell the roses:  Put the mirror away, and stop looking at yourself so much, and pay attention to the things around you! Life doesn't center around YOU, you know.  Slow down, and you'll get more ideas.

Leave you arrogance and ego at the door;  Nobody likes an arrogant person, and if you fit in this category...you need more help than you know.  Stress is one of the worst things for creativity and developing ideas.  Arrogant people cause stress...and stress slows down the mind for working and creating.  People usually don't work well. or get ideas, when they are under stress.

Toot Your Horn With Dignity and Gratitude; I've kept record of how my articles are doing over the last few years...how many are featured each week.  My record is 95 articles in one week in March, 2012; and my low is 9 articles in December, 2012. 

EzineArticles.com; (Article directory);  this is where I started posting my articles in 2006, and it's one of the best ideas in writing I've ever had.  That's why so many articles of mine have been published, etc.

Articles Published Page;  As of March, 2013, I have 374 articles on hand.  Over 100 (different) articles have been published on more than 500 websites on the Internet.

KISS Principle; (Keep It Simple, STUPID);  All my life, I've subscribed to the Kiss Principle.  There are people out there, who can make the simple game of baseball so complicated, that you will never learn the game.  Keep life simple, and you'll get more ideas...simple as that. 

Take notes; Most people have a bad memory like me, and if I want to get ideas, I have to take notes every place I go.  I suggest a small spiral notebook that can fit in your purse or the glove compartment in the car.  Every time you get an idea...write it down.  It does't have to be lengthy...afterall the Bible and War and Peace have already been written.  Short, brief notes of one or two words will do fine.  Then, after you get home, you can add to the notes, so they are more clear in your mind. 

I keep a clip-board with a sheet of paper by my bedside, and if I get an idea during the night, I wake up, turn on the light and write it down.  I've done this dozens of time, over my lifetime.  The ideas usually come during the early morning hours.  (Now, if I could just read my writing)

Keep Ideas in Front of you;  Once you get an idea, don't shove it in a file cabinet someplace!  Stick it or tape it on your bulletin board or on the wall in front of you in your home office.  If you do this, the idea will always be in the for-front of your mind, and the idea will explode in to a real idea very soon.  I call my space a 'glance board' and the ideas are always in front of me, so I can 'glance' at them several times a day, etc. 

Taking chances (risks) with your ideas; I've been in the creative business for over 40 years.  First, as a woodcarver and in the art world.  Next in the world of writing, and I've always taken chances with my work, and I've sold almost everything I've made.  Below are listed three #1 articles;

CONSTIPATION; Saying Hello to a Costly Enema; This is my over-all #1 article in hits/views and popularity...that's right.  Because of the subject-matter, and the title, I was reluctant to write, but I went with it, and look what happened...#1. 

Here's the Skinny On How I Lost 40 Pounds; This was my dominant article, as it was #1 for over 3 1/2 years at three different places.  This piece has also been published in over 30 websites on the Internet.  Amazing!

Halloween Party; The Two-Headed Monster; This is another #1 article, only this time, it has been published on more than 40 websites on the Internet.  This piece has also been listed on the Featured Page in the Parental category for over two years.  Amazing! 

Hemorrhoids/asterroids; What's the Difference? As I said, I have always taken chances with my ideas, and this is another example with the article title.

U.S. Congress; The Best Little Whorehouse in Washington, D.C. Here is another example of taking chances with the title.

Gift Shop; The Funny Farm;  This is probably the silliest page I've ever composed;  Here, you can get a designer straight-jacket in your favorite color.

Self-employed;  In January, 2013, I got the idea, that I wanted to go into business for myself (at the age of 68 no less)  I feel that I can make it work.  In one word...confidence!  It involve an eShopping Mall, and it is pretty much self-explanatory if you follow the links below;

Morning/night person; I think another reason why I get more ideas, is because I am a morning person.  I am retired, but I still get up in the morning at 4:30 or 5 in the morning.  That is whan the body is more relaxed after sleeping all night. 

It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon, to come up with good, usable ideas for your projects and your future.  There a half a dozen tips listed here, on what I do to get ideas...a five year old can do it...IF...you keep things SIMPLE...
