- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries we make and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists can use that knowledge to save thousands more children around the world. 

- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food because all a family should worry about is helping the child live.

Andrew's story;

At only six years old, Andrew began having cramps on the back of his legs by his knees.  They would happen sporadically and kept getting worse.  Before too long, he had trouble walking and would scream out in pain and started to limp.  Realizing his condition was worse than just growing pains, Andrew's mother took him to the local pediatric orthopedist who ordered an MRI...which revealed that Andrew had a tumor the size of an orange in his pelvic area, next to his spinal column. 

Ewing sarcoma...a diagnosis that would frighten any parent...is the cancer that Andrew has to face.  He was immediately referred to St. Jude Children's and Research Hospital.  Andrew's family would never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, housing, travel or food...because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.  And, that is thanks to the generosity of donors, including Partners in Hope like you.  Andrew is currently in remission, but he will need to be watched closely of the recurrence of the cancer because the tumor is inoperable, due to the location.

He returns regularly to St. Jude for checkups, and our doctors and researchers are doing everything in their power to help save this precious little boy's life.  "We love St. Jude...Andrew loves it here.  It's the best home, away from home," says his mother.  "The staff is wonderful, and Andrew loves his doctors.  His favorite doctor is so friendly, upbeat, and so positive."
