I was talking with my friend. I was telling her that I want to make lots of money to become free to buy whatever I want and not to worry about money. She asked me a simple question. Are you sure that is freedom? After a while, I realized the depth of her question. Freedom is not really about trying to meet all of our wants and desires. It is about understanding why we desire something. It is about understanding ourselves and our unconscious patterns and beliefs.
People have different wants. Some want money. Some do not want to be alone at any cost. Some want to be adored. Some want to be independent. Some want to feel superior. Some want to be famous. Some want to be taken care of. Some want to be accepted.
It is our limiting beliefs about things that limits our freedom and creates bondage. The bondage appears in form of wants appearing as “needs”. Truly free people separate their needs from their wants. They know why they want something and do not give away their freedom easily.
Take a look around you. Look at the faces of people. Do they look like free people? It seems everyone has never ending wants of many forms. Their bondage can be expressed in forms of “I have to …”, “I can’t …” How are you limiting your own freedom?

Large mortgage that keeps you sleepless.

Limiting your expression to keep others happy?
Freedom or bondage?
Living outside your means?
Freedom or bondage?
Having to constantly impress others.
Freedom or bondage?
Believing money will fix everything.
Do not chase the illusion
that if you have enough money
you will be free or happy.
Many people with money are not happy or free.
Know yourself first!
Do not make your invisible chains longer!
Understand the reason for your wants
be it money, fame, job, relationship or marriage.
