Your health is your responsibility. Take charge of your health. This article, presents a step-by-step program, in a nutshell, to guide a person in achieving optimum health.
Simply embrace this optimum health formula and see your health improve. If it is good, it will get better.

TV pontificators and commercials, most so-called self-help books and misinformed people, including some so-called experts and professionals who misinform other people, daily dispense advice on health and substances that they caim will enhance a person's health. A vast amount of the illness in society and some premarture deaths result from people being victimized by these debilitation peddlers.
This simple and personal "Optimum Health Formula," an alternative to the aforementioned sources, consists of four components. It supersedes any and all known offerings guaranteering good health. Yet, it is not anything new. These components are:
1. Diet and Nutrition. Eat right. The staple food consists of vegetables, fruit, nuts, beef or pork no more than twice a week, chicken or fish on other days except, preferably, one meatless day each week. As for alcohol, soft drinks and coffee, the less, the better. The same goes for salt, sugar and fast food.
2. Exercise and Fitness. Put walking at the top of the list. Walk two or three miles at least four times a week. Bend, stretch, dance and fidget around, up ad down, and even sideways. Be aware that non-human animals don't do weight lifting or ride bicycles in order to be healthy. Neither do human beings need to do these things to be healthy. However, if you do not engage in other forms of exercise, weight lifting and riding a bicycle are better than no health-oriented exerise.
3. Prayer and Meditation. Pray and meditate at least several times a day. Remember prayer and meditation are not the same. One cannot be a substitute for the other. We need both. When are we to pray? Anytime is a good time to pray. And be sure to pray before you eat. What position should we be in when we pray? Any position will do if the praying person is in an attitude of prayerfulness. Prayer is a conversation or dialogue with God. This is talking with and listening to God.
Meditation is a tuning-out the external and fantasy, including thoughts and imagination, and a tuning-in to silence and the soul. We have not yet learned how to be silent. The meditation process is active to begin with and that may include focusing on one's breathing and reciting a mantra. The active gives way to the passive that is manifested in silence, thougthtlessness and surrender to the Source, known by many names, all of which are conceived to be nothing less than the Ultimate or The Totality of All Good.
4. Intellectual Growth. The pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and self-discovery is the basis of intellectual growth. The focus is on learning. Like the body, the intellect, also known as the mind, is constantly in need of nourishment. This requires that a person has new experiences. Learning somethng new each day is one way to foster intellectual growth.
This is the Optimum Heath Formula. in a nutshell. During most of my life, that now exceeds threescore and ten years, this formula has kept me healthy in body, mind, soul and spirit. I continue to walk four mile a day at least four times a week and adhere religiousy to the actualization of these prescriptions that constitute this Optimum Health Formula.
In addition to these four components, be aware that singing and sex pay enormous health dividends.
