There is much uncertainty in the world. We all have our doubts, fears and questions about the counterfeit nature of things and people. One can draw strength for his/her journey from having something that he/she can embrace with certainty.

This I know for sure.
I know, I know, that I know for sure,
That I Am the Most Significant Person
in My World.
Ask me at anytime, anywhere, who am I?
And I will tell you that I Am the Most Significant Person in My World.
Call my self-acknowledgment, if you please, selfish or narcissistic, call me an egomaniac, suggest that I put others ahead of myself and tell me it is noble to love others more than I love myself.
Say whatever you please. This one thing I want you to know, I am the Most Signifincant Person in My World.
What happens in your world is not my business. That's your business. But what happens in my world is my business. That's my priority business.
And what you think about me is not my business; but what I think about me is my business.
This I Know for Sure, I Am the Most Significant Person in My World.

For twenty-five years I called my best friend and intimate lover, "My Most Significant Other." Even after her demise I continue to think of her as My Most Significant Other. But never have I considered her to be the Most Significant Person in My World. I Am the Most Significant Person in My World.
For me it was not always true that I was the Most Significant Person in My World. This happened only after I discovered myself. Before my self-discovery just about anyone else was more important than myself, including my parents, siblings, teachers, policemen, Uncle Sam, who was not my relative, and on and on the list goes.
There are worlds, worlds and worlds. They are legion, known, unknown and unknowable. Each person has his own world. The Creator created each person as an autonomous and unique being who is meant to be the center of his world. But for many people socialization, acculturation and, in many instances, dehumanization have taken over the centers of individuals who are unable to distinguish between their socialized self and real self who they were created to be. Nevertheless, in such state, they realize that they do not feel at home in their own skin.
My world consists of my external and internal environments. It is more soul and spiritual than biological and physical. It is not our world or some underworld. My world is my world. Other people have their worlds too and I respect them, giving each person the right, not that he needs my permission, anymore than I need his, to have his own world. It is all right with me for another person to be the most important person in his world. But I will not permit anyone, even though he may be deemed by others to be the greatest, to be as important in my world as I am.
It was only through self-discovery that I acquired the awareness to accept the fact that I Am the Most Significant Person in My World. My self-discovery was not like Columbus's discovery of America, something that would have been a joke, even to Sitting Bull, except that it was genocidal for him and his people. I didn't discover my world at Harvard or any other institution where I matriculated. Once I discovered myself I embraced myself and claimed my inheritance, a gift of grace.
So when I speak of being the Most Significant Person in My World, I am not in any way suggesting that I am the Most Significant Person in another person's world. My hope is that each person will choose to be the most significant person in his world.
With the acceptance that I was the most significant person in my world, I discovered that I am a child of God, that God is my Primal Father. It was then that my self-esteem zoomed from a below minus to a high on the Richter scale of self-worth. No longer was the assertion, "I am somebody," adequate to describe who I am. Anybody is somebody but anybody is not a child of God. Only with self-discovery can one have awareness of being a child of God and experiencing God as his Primal Father.
Being the most significant person in my world means that I am responsible for taking care of myself, my own happiness, loving myself more than anyone else loves me, and being my own best friend. It also means that I desire the friendship of others but that I will not surrender my most significant status in my world in exchange for their friendship. I desire and encourage others, individually, to be the most significnant person in their worlds.
I have also discovered that when I am best for myself, the Most Significant Person in My world, that I am best for my friends and others in general. In this state of being I am able to ralate to another person as an independent rather than a dependent and experience the meaning that is inherent in interdependence.
As I celebrate My Most Significant Person in My World-consciousmess, it seems as if the entire universe joins with me in celebration. I hear many voices, some of which are angelic, proclaiming, "You are our celebrity!" Wow! They too know that I know that I Am the Most Significant Person in My World." They are my friends.
