The Bill and Hillary Show

First let me state for the record that I don’t have a dog in this fight. However thanks to Bill and Hillary, reality TV, of the hardcore variety, has finally hit the air waves, and I must confess, I’m enjoying it!
Not since Roseanne Barr performed her controversial rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, at the opening of a baseball game, in which she spat and grabbed her crotch, have I witnessed such bizarre, foolish, crude and dare I say “brilliant” maneuvering of the leading Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton and her “bad boy” husband Bill.
The name calling and backbiting, hit a feverous pitch at the Democratic Debate, hosted by CNN, as a totally out-of-character, Barack Obama went on the attack against Hillary Clinton.
The strategy all along by the Clinton’s, was to simply draw Obama into a slugfest, and take away that air of confidence and grace, to get down and dirty, and they succeeded, Bill Clinton’s uncanny ability to slowly interject himself into the race, caught both the political pundits and in particular Obama off guard. It seems that the constant assertions and innuendoes by the former president became too much for Obama to ignore, and he foolishly took the bait, and went after Hillary Clinton.
Obviously, Obama isn’t a student of the Bill Clinton brand of politics; if he was he would have known what he was dealing with. Both Hillary and Bill have long and checkered pasts and while the left embraces his presidency, there are many who have been personally injured by this mans misdeeds, and yet I begrudgingly admit that he’s by far, one of the most effective politicians, I’ve ever seen.
He’s masterful at redefining history, to promote whatever agenda he deems necessary. His exploits of womanizing and disrespecting his wife and woman in general, are legendary, and yet he rates high marks among woman voters. Their questionable land deals in Arkansas have been well documented as was his lying under oath to a federal judge, and his pardoning of scores of “business associates”. Some of whom have fled to other countries because of pending fraud and tax evasion charges.
Mere mortals like ourselves would have thanked whatever God we prayed too, to have escaped impeachment, not Bill Clinton. He’ll look you straight in the eye, and lie to you, and you, knowing the truth will still doubt yourself, and that’s what Senator Obama faces, a Clinton machine that will inevitably grind him down and chew him out.
They’ve already succeeded in marginalizing his message of “change” and have reduced him to defending his record, rather then his vision for the country. Bill Clinton’s lashing out at the media, while it may seem heartfelt, in truth is a brilliant strategy, and while he’s not actually race baiting, race (thanks in part to the media), has never-the-less suddenly become a main topic within the debate.
The strategy within the Clinton camp seems to be to forgo (if need be), their core base of black voters for now, and attack Obama’s credibility and experience, and allowing surrogates to “hint “ at his youthful indiscretions involving drug use.
Obviously, this strategy will alienate many voters within the black community, who see this type of hardcore politics as an attack on a black man. However it seems that they’ve crunched the numbers and have calculated that states with predominately black voters are few, therefore expendable and not needed to capture the nomination.
Their rational is to marginalize Obama, and reduce his appeal, among the undecided, and perhaps even creating a backlash among the other traditional core groups, within the Democratic Party. The challenge for the Clinton’s however will be to recapture those votes for the general election. Perhaps offering Obama the vice presidency.
Sounds sinister? Not for the Clinton’s…their masters at rewriting history and manipulating the populace, and if all else fails, Hillary can always resort to shedding another tear.
