Would someone please inform the President, the campaign is over, and he won! It seems that President Obama is having a tough time believing that he is indeed the president, how else can one explain his constant “Bush bashing” in Europe?

I assume President Obama wanted to draw a distinction between himself and his predecessor; however his constant bashing of the pervious administration is reminiscent of another president, who at the time was also considered to be a transcending force on the political landscape.

President Jimmy Carter, who became embroiled in one crisis after another, and was simply over his head as president, and to this day still tries to rewrite history on his own failed administration.

Hopefully, President Obama isn’t the new Jimmy Carter; however this trip to Europe seems to have brought out another perhaps hidden side to this President, and is in sharp contrast between candidate Obama's lofty and inspiring message of hope and change, and President Obama’s strident and partisan attack on anything moderate.

Perhaps he feels he needs to divert attention from his rookie handling of the economy and attacking the former president is fare game, and yet I believe and the polls show that a majority of the voting public still has a positive sense of him…so again, why the bashing?

And while I’ve never had a vested interest in Obama, as president I did find him a breath of fresh air, on the campaign trail, so much so, that I even compared him to President Reagan, in my article; Barack Obama; The Ronald Reagan Of The Left.

Not in ideology of course, but rather in his inspirational view of America and how he was able to bring out the best in us, as a people…and I wrote.

“Unlike most of the leading candidates, Obama talks of unifying a troubled nation, speaking eloquently (much like Reagan), of his vision for America, his message of hope and change, resonates with his legends of young fans, and while all the candidates I assume are principled in their beliefs. Only Obama seems able to transcend the negative discourse that now dominates the political landscape”.

“He doesn’t subscribe to the brand of hard-core politics that seems to be prevalent within both parties, he speaks of the issues with passion, yet without recrimination, he’s articulate without seeming pompous or self indulgent, and like President Reagan, he seems to have an unwavering belief that anything is possible”.

How wrong I was…sadly this president has the ability to bring this nation together, rather then divide, if he so chooses. However, I suspect Obama has a blind side when it comes to compromise. He talks a good game; however his deeds once again, are a far cry from his rhetoric.

His pandering abroad, demonstrates to me that he doesn’t have America’s best interest, astoundingly while he was referencing America as being “arrogant” and bashing President Bush, none of his European counterparts responded in kind, about their own failed policies and their reluctance to enforce UN Resolutions and its sanctions, against a rouge nation…by contrast President Bush and only a few European allies had the courage to enforce those sanctions. That’s the message that should have been given to the Europeans.

He should have reminded them, of what took place 60-years ago, and that indeed history does repeat itself, if you choose to ignore terror. There are thousands upon thousands of American graves on European soil that made the ultimate sacrifice…that’s what he should have also said.       

Incredibility, this President is even willing to abandon our missile defense program; in order to appease the Russians…perhaps he should inform the North Koreans the next time they launch a missile.

We have real enemies in the world, and it makes little difference if we call them “terrorists” or "man-caused" disasters…the end result is the same. However when you parcel words and aren’t clear, and pander, you set yourself up for unattended consequences.

Mr. Obama you’re the President, not George Bush…stop the bashing and the pandering and start governing, I’ve got my fingers crossed that you’re up to the task, and that we’ll still have a free, safe and open America when you’re term is through.
