Being a student of history, I can’t help but acknowledge the stark parallels of what took place in Massachusetts last night and what took place on an April morn in 1775, as a rag-tag group of farmers, shop owners, and peasants, stood their ground at a place called  Lexington and Concord and changed forever the course of history.

Senator Elect Scott Brown, sent a message to Washington last night, and perhaps reawakened the spirit of those first Bostonians, who, when faced with a belligerent government, stood their ground against overwhelming odds and declared “ENOUGH”.

Political pundits may debate the politics of it all, and ask how could an ultra blue and liberal state like Massachusetts, (with a three to one margin of Democrates over Republicans), elect a conservitive to the senate?

The answere of course is simple…the voters last night  weren’t Democrats or Republicans, but Americans…patriots if you will, fed up with an out-of control Washington that has time and again, disregarded the well of the people, and like that rag-tag army of colonists who stood in defiance against the power of Great Britain they fired last night, their own “shot”, and hopefully it will be heard in Washington.

However, if not, and Washington continues with its back room bribes, cronyism and corruption,  I suspect like those Minuteman who rode along the country side warning the populace and shouting ‘The Redcoats are coming’…that we will indeed face a second American Revolution
