An Article for new writers who struggle with Writer's Block.

WRITER'S BLOCK !!


A groan of despair has surely echoed in the ears of even the best of the best writers when the dreaded Writers Block glides on silent wings into their dens of seclusion, where they play solitaire. So where does the writer's magic go when he or she appears to lose the breathing sigh of oceans that rush towards warm sands as if there is no tomorrow?

Understanding of Writers Block only comes with the understanding of the ever-changing concept of life itself. A writer's creativity is akin to the spirit of wind ... sometimes the roar of winds cannot be stilled, and other times the breath of air is so calm that even the rustle of leaves cannot be heard ... Yet we never question if the sound will return, we simply know in our hearts that it will.

The creativity of a writer's spirit can be defined by the moments in time when the roar of winds whistle through the cracks of windows to run chilling fingers up their spines, or the moments of intense calm that unnerve even the most confident of creative geniuses. Writers have many moods, and from these ever-changing moods comes the beauty of creativity that sometimes needs to draw breath before the return of a new day.

If a writer becomes afflicted with the dreaded disease 'Writers Block' there is only reliable cure ... Step outside your secluded den of creativity, and don't just look ... See all the rivers run towards the sea, and watch the ebb and flow of changing tide; Listen to birds sing with the break of day, and call hauntingly from the shadows of twilight. When it rains, watch droplets trickle down misting windowpanes, and gaze into mud puddles that shimmer with reflections of mystery. Don't just feel the wind brushing against your skin with its warmth or chilling touch of fingers, breath in the ever-changing moods it carries willingly to your heart. Hear the voice of the person who passes you in the street, you may not know them, but some of the most profound wisdom can be heard in the voice of a passing stranger.

There is so much inspiration to be found in the beauty of this world of ours, and the Native American people have imparted some of the greatest wisdom of all ... 'If you sit patiently, and watch and listen, you will see clearly, and hear the voice Mother Earth speaking'. Writers, of all people, have far reaching vision, learn to use them to their full extent, for you are the voice of those who cannot, or will not, see.

A writer is akin to the spirit of ever-changing seasons, we should never question if autumn will follow summer. It is only the Fear of losing the precious gift of creativity that makes us question if it will return from the deafening silence of Writers Block.
