Five year olds make for a very entertaining game of ice hockey.
We root for children to be successful; as a child goes to attempt a crucial play in a game we are hoping for them to be successful.
Watching young children play sports is always entertaining and pulls at your heartstrings. This is where I found myself one night at a Portland, Oregon Winter Hawks hockey game. At half-time the ice was set-up for a demonstration game. I looked down and wobbly stepping onto the ice was a group of hockey players no older than five years old. The players were wearing all the bulky padding required to play hockey. It was hard to see the children underneath all of their gear.
