Our short-sighted governments, both state
and federal are pushing for gas sales to
the USA, before securing the future of
our own energy supplies.

Australia's national water and gas grid
should be set as a priority, ahead of
any gas sales to other countries.

With Australia still reeling from its
worst recorded drought and the Longford
and Moomba gas plant fires still making
their presence felt ..... it would seem
the "Reticulate Australia" concept
should be a matter of priority for
industry leaders and pollies, alike.

We have the resources, we have the
technology, now is the time to make the
duplex grid of water and gas, throughout
Australia, a reality .....

..... fill every major water supply
reservoir, in Australia, to guarantee
water supplies to every capital city for
CENTURIES ahead.

Likewise, with the gas grid, bring the
enormous reserves in the Browse Basin
through the Kimberley and Officer Basin
to tie in with Palm Valley, Momba and
the rest of the eastern states gas grid
..... North-west Shelf and Gorgon gas
can also be linked into the grid to
guarantee Australia's energy needs,
far into the distant future.

Broadacre irrigation to ensure a bumper

Open up new land that was previously
marginal, due to lack of water.

From the Kimberley, a link to maintain
underground reserves in the Officer Basin
and then onto Kalgoorlie, Perth and the
dry interior of the South-west.

Fill the old gold mining pits and
regional dams to optimum levels to
encourage local industry, leisure and
tourism activities.

Another line from the Officer Basin to be
run eastwards, in tandem with a gas
pipeline from Officer Basin to the Palm
Valley gasfields, the onwards to Alice
Springs and Moomba.

From there, both water and gas can be
distributed in this dual-pipe
configuration to link with established
networks and create new links to critical
dams and reservoirs at the head of our
failing eastern waterways.

We have the water, we have the
technology, let's get a committment from
the pollies to stand up and lobby for
a common-sense approach to maintaining
water and energy, throughout Australia.

Towing icebergs from Antarctica or giant
desalination plants are NOT the answer
for Perth or the rest of Australia.
