You should realize that the world you live in is very different from every other person on this earth. In other words, for some this planet may be a hell while for others it may be a heavenly oasis.  We are all aware that not every person enters this world on a level playing field.  Some babies are born into wealthy families. Some are born with great healthy and strong bodies. Others enter this world with sickly bodies, born into poverty or abusive situations.  Jesus’ disciples once asked him “Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?” And “Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”  Now many have interpreted that this man was made to be blind just so that one day Jesus could come along and heal him.  I don’t know about you but that sounds a little cruel to have to wait an entire lifetime to be miraculously healed.

 Many people have used this particular reference from John 9:1 to make an argument for reincarnation.  I agree that this may be karmic grounds for this man’s situation in life but we will dive into that discussion at another time.  To stay on point, I merely seek to point out we should not judge one another or another person’s situation. As I stated, every situation we experience in life has “spiritual seed” within that may allow us to grow in our understanding.  Life is an opportunity for the immaculate soul to experience all the possibilities of choice.  Every situation is not inherently good or bad rather it is our “judgment” about it that makes it so.  To come to a greater self-realization we must learn to emotionally detach from extreme passion and dispassion.  As long as we identify with these extremes we behave as victims.  When we learn to separate our attachment, we begin to think more clearly and can then CHOOSE our thoughts and thus our experiences. 

Those people who enjoy tremendous amounts of wealth in this lifetime were karmically drawn to that experience but it doesn’t necessarily mean it is a blessing. As we all know from watching “reality” television that many rich celebrities have traumatic lives of depression, abuse, disfunction and anger.  Likewise, every poor person is not being karmically punished for something they may have done. Rather that may be the best scenario for them to spiritually prosper.  At the end of the day, the poor person, rich person, healthy or unhealthy, black or white, educated or uneducated, physically attractive or less physically attractive, male or female person are in the ideal life to reach their greatest potential based upon their current spiritual understanding. 

By accepting this truth, we can then begin to change our life experience by objectively/subjectively finding out what do I need to change in my thoughts, words and actions to create a different experience. But we must remind ourselves that true prosperity is an inner awareness not an “outer experience” which is only temporary.  Riches, health, good looks etc all come and go but who you are as a person is permanently yours to keep. The ultimate goal is to “purify” the false ego into the perfect soul that always lives for the highest Truth of unity, love and service to all. 

The world is a very big place. You and one million of your friends do not have the power to change it. There have been many Blessed Souls and Saints to walk this earth and yet none of them have ended disease, hunger, poverty, anger, hate etc. That sort of change happens only gradually when by many examples individuals begin to choose a more loving path.  As long as there is even one soul that needs to experience poverty, sickness or lack then you would deny that person spiritual growth to try to circumvent their “free will” to choose that learning experience.

Now let me be careful before some try to twist my words.  I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be charitable and giving.  What I’m saying is that the “giver” benefits more in that experience than the “receiver.”  The reason why is because the “receiver” may have gotten the benefit of a meal, clothing or shelter but the “giver” is spiritually reaffirming that they are even in a position to give! The source of all blessings ultimately come from Spirit but we may often be the “mediums” to deliver it. This may be a challenging concept to grasp the first time hearing it but it is true our lives are a reflection of our thoughts and choices. 

We shouldn’t judge another person’s experience rather if you see hunger then feel free to do your part to help put an end to that hunger in that moment. If you see injury then do your part to help heal in that moment. If you see ignorance then do your part to impart light or wisdom. But understand that everything you do is more about an expression of who you are as opposed to whom you may have served.  The goal is as Jesus stated, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”  Matthew 5:48  This is only scratching the surface of a significant truth that if the universe is infinite then each and every point can be considered its Center. In other words, we are all the center(s) of the universe hence we begin to better understand the profound truth of “You must be the change you seek in the world.”
