Before I met Victor Schwartzman, a canadian gentleman, over internet, I had never done a review of a book. Victor, who then was an editor of OUTSIDERSWRITERS.COM, asked me to do what is the title of this post. He said that it will be an invaluable service as far as my favourite author is concerned.
At that time I was waiting for the release of my first book. To test his commitment I requested him to send me one of his favourite books. To my surprise I received by post a copy of TELL ME NO LIES by John Pilger. But In the meanwhile I reread THE GURU OF LOVE, and wrote a review of it that I sent him to surprise, soon after I received the book. He was kind enough to punlish it in OW.
Inspired by him, I read the book he sent more seriously than any I had before. I made notes also-for the first time, while reading it. This review too he published in OW and sent me a T-shirt from New york as a compliment, a few sizes too big for me, which my taller son is too glad to wear. However, afterwards, he got busy in taking care of his terminally sick old mother, who was in her nineties. She did not survive much. But Victor-hypertensive and in his sixties- did his duties of a son.
So I say here the same, Do a review of a book of your beloved writer and let the world know how valuable is his/her work. Claim your author before it is late! There is a way too much ALTERNATIVE READING buried under the mainstream. It is time to celebrate it.
