Mystery Smell Still a Mystery
NEW YORK - The gas-like odor that hung over Manhattan's streets appears to be gone but city officials are still trying to pinpoint its source — and eyeing New Jersey.
So what’s unusual about that?
The strong odor, detectable from Manhattan's southern tip to well past Central Park, led to some precautionary evacuations, and about a dozen people were taken to hospitals complaining of difficulty breathing, said a Fire Department spokesman.
Others complained of difficulty speaking English.
Allow me to clear the air! I’m sure many readers are familiar with my annual New Years revolution that usually goes undaunted until my first trip to the mall or some other public place.
Although the results are quite similar let me say fragrantly, I WAS NO WHERE NEAR NEW YORK or NEW JERSEY!
With that thought in mind officials may do well by checking out the
