Today is Saturday. Everybody loves Saturday!
Saturday by any other name is still Saturday.
Saturday is the last day of this week, which will soon become last week tomorrow when Sunday which is the first day of next week becomes the first day of the week and Saturday the last day of last week.
I often wonder why God, who created the world in six days, rested on Sunday, the first day instead of Saturday, the last after the work was done? It would also make sense to have the rest day after payday.
What if he did work on the last day after the work was done?
That would mean there was an additional week that he was doing something else, BEFORE he created the world that we are unaware of, which would mean Earth is a week older than previously believed, if you believe?
I also wonder why he quit after one world?
Would it not make sense to create at least one extra world incase something happens to the first? I’m sure there are times he wishes he had another.
Maybe he never got paid for the first? You never know?
God does!
So why do WE only work five days?
So why does George not work at all?
Where would we be if God retires?
I think he deserves it…more than George!
You got into some pretty heady stuff about God and the universe and all that rot… Even George… So I won't touch on that subject, just Saturday.
About the time that Petula Clark was telling us all to go, "Downtown (on Saturday?)," there opened a show on the other side of the pond you may recall, called NBC's Saturday Night. That forced all of us not to rest on Saturday night, but stay up very late and laugh. That was okay, we all gladly accepted our sleep disorder and stayed in a little later on Sunday, often missing church for the Church Lady.
Anyways, a rising New York lawyer, Howard Cosell, who took a few lessons from the young Donald on arrogance, decided that he would revive Ed Sullivan's variety show, The Talk of the Town. Only it would be on Saturday night and appropriately called, Saturday Night Live. On his opening-night, true to the Beatles, he brought over from Liverpool the latest wave of the British invasion and one hit wonder, Bay City Rollers with their song that thrilled the heartbeats of young teenagers, Saturday Night. They never were heard from again and Cosell's, "big shew," fizzled in three months. As penance, Cosell was allowed to host the last show in the first season of SNL.

A humorous look at the world and life through my eyes.
Follow the author and his wife, as they travel the world …. several times over.
Laugh at their funny stories, self-inflicted crazy events, strange observations, wacky zoo facts and snippets
